Check out the 20 preset options (10 male, 10 female) you'll be able to select when you're beginning your Skyrim adventure. Remember, this is only the presets... you'll have tons of additional options.

Seeing those Oblivion screens in the comparisons...good Lord, they really dropped the bomb on Oblivion faces.

I know right? And to think that at the time of OB's release I actually thought character faces looked good. Now they just look like a joke. lol

I didn't realise how high the res was on the screens.

When I got it fullscreen... HOLY [censored].
They've done some great work.

Compliment on you being nice enough to carry on the thread and certainly not waiting to jump at the chance to open one of the most popular threads atm.

Just playin'

I'm surprised there is anything left to talk about to be honest though after this many threads. Still, there is some nice comparisons for me to check out that I missed.

Well, now that we've seen so many variations of all the races... What will we be excited about until the release of Skyrim? We've gotta have other stuff!

It looks like all these shots were using a 3D model viewer on the PC, not in-game, and they didn't set the polygon light smoothing setting. o_O The image quality would go up remarkably and they would literally look less "chiseled" if the individual polygons in some areas weren't blatantly visible. /this is just commentary on why they look that way. But as for the content itself, they're more than awesome, they look brilliant. :)

100% with you on this one... hopefully they will be smoothed in the game (they might be skipping it to push a few more FPS out on the console :yucky: ).

It's most obvious in the noses.

Thanks! Not really new though I have just re-joined after losing my password to my e-mail. Used to read more than post though.

I REALLY wish that Beth would do some kind of pre-release char editor for Skyrim. Pete said no though didn't he? If other games can do it
why can't they? They really don't try sometimes. I really want to create my Khajiit now. =(

No, I don't think so. The alpha channel of the beards and whiskas doesn't look like it has any sort of smoothing applied to it. I would thus assume it is still Xbox.

You do realise games are developed on the PC, even if they are to be used on the console.

Why would they use a model viewer running on the XBOX?

Why take any screenshots on Xbox? I do realise this yes, I am going to uni in a month to study 3D modelling and animation. I have my devkit Xbox linked up to the CryEngine 3 editor now. I could take screenshots of the Xbox version when I figure it all out. It's complicated when you are learning something new.

Well that's a good point and a good question. One I could not possibly hope to answer... because why would they? I wouldn't!

Someone ask Pete Hines. Only thing I can think of is to prevent the onslaught of consumers saying "yeah but will it look this good on XBOX or PS3".
