Character Creator RENEWED

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:25 am

Exactly what the question says. The last discussion on this topic was "locked for clean up" as no one re-started it I thought I would. Please keep this easy and on topic, we don't want another lock.

So uh, if enough people vote yes... does that mean you're going to personally deliver us a character creator?

I wont. SD might though, I have no idea how much they take into account the discussion on these forums.

Since they're busy making the game I would guess none of the devs read this forum. No one is going to have their grand idea picked out and realized in flawless code the next day along with their photo and name in the credits. Why would they seek out balancing advice from people who have never played the game? It's not as if they haven't thought of ideas, it's what's actually feasible and different enough to matter. Everyone is posting all their Brink game balancing tips or ideas or requests in the form of POLLS. So you're all just taking worthless ideas and forming popularity contests out of them. Polls are an inherit feature in online forums, they weren't specially added here just so the devs can get help figuring out what they should be doing.

Lighten up. If the whole entire forum run by that rule, there WOULD BE NO TOPICS.
It's something to discuss and think about, something to pass the time. Who cares if it won't have the potential to be actually made, it gives us something to discuss.
There's no need for these constant comments -_-

I can think of better thread topics than "Should the operative class have this idea I came up with so it can be overpowered?" "Can Brink be my game having all my ideas just added in tomorrow?" No, I think I'm seeing selfishness here. I was under the assumption that everyone realizes their idea will never come true. Otherwise what else is there? Everyone is believing "I play video games, I've registered on a forum, I am now part of the developer team. My threads should be formatted to collect player opinions so goals can be changed"? When the poll format is being used like that all it says to me that the poster doesn't actually care about discussing Brink and only wants to track points. It's a bad approach to a new thread whether realized or not.

The last was closed because it was a mess and it was not restarted because the other members were probably aware of the rule about restarting locked topics.

This one hasn't started any better either.
