I would rather see a borderlands style ability generator than a character creator. That being said I wouldn't mind seeing one.

Yes I knew that ;)
However, a Char creator would be nice.
Maybe another idea: A freerun "game". Just to test out the smart system. No hud, no guns, no customization, ... Just you as a light, in ONE map, running around using Smart.

OMG!!! i swear thats what i was thinking too!! i was going to add that as a second question but i decided to keep it simple instead ^^ but yes! that would be freaking sweet, like an indoor map with just a bunch of stuff made to use the SMART system.

As long as they don't waste time while doing something like this. :D It should be something simple or maybe a part of a map they already finished or something.

Cause in real life, you can't jump as far, and when you fall short... that 40ft drop could kill you.

Exactly, and not all people live near places where you can actually do parkour.

Personal order of things I'd like to see prior to release:

1) Freerun gametype
2) Ability tree
3) Char customization

I think a small, low level capped (3,5,10?), 1-2 intro mission, solo, maybe co-op only, demo would be better then a "freerun demo"

why?

cause if it's just free-run, people will misinterpret it as a new mirrors edge.... and it certainly is NOT mirrors edge.

I'd be more than happy to see any of these, but I don't see any of them happening. This game isn't an RPG, it's an FPS, the main focus of the game is always going to be the gameplay. Your characters abilities won't make a whole lot of difference to how the game plays, and while the customization is awesome, and although it's a major feature, it's not what the game's about. If anything a demo would be the most likely thing we'll see, and I just don't think that's going to happen.

:flamethrower: , I burn your statement
and a character creator would be nice though a skill tree would be much more beneficial, If it were me I would release a SMALL but good portion of both to keep us on our toes.

I beg to differ good sir. It makes all the difference. The abilities you have will enable you to do certain objectives and/or playstyle. Agreed your statement needs to meet a fiery death, :flamethrower: :ahhh:

I vote no because I think the customization is going to be one of the cornerstones of the gaming experience and probably the most time intensive section for people like me who like to change the color of everything just to see what it would look like. I feel like I'll have more fun playing the game if I'm customizing it for the first time after it releases.

Well they already have something similar to this on their site...
Where you select customised characters. Yea, you don't get to pick all their stuff, but it does show you hundreds on examples on what your character could look like, in both resistance and security.

I have to agree with you I'd rather have no little creator thing and the second brink unlocks on steam, (as I will be preloading it as soon as possible) being able to enter the creator and have no idea what I want to make just to be able to look through the stuff in game is it's own excitement and I think this would be ruined if they did this. Also for the dragon age you pretty much all you made was a face because of the fact you get armor like you would in any RPG and making faces isn't nearly as fun as making your clothing/armor.
