There is but we cant talk much about it due to the NDA.
We could only hope. The fans of the game and from the beta want to say what we want. Im sure they will release the NDA soon enough.
The character creation video meant to do this showcases the larger-set characters and everything. It even shows the variety between builds. I think the prevalence of characters with medium builds in the other videos is just how players tend to make their characters look. In games I've played where you can edit a character's build, most people go for a physically fit, medium build.
That and throw the boob and butt sliders all the way to the right. There's been quite a few times in other games that I felt like I was the only one who didn't do that.
Official Character Creation video for those who haven't seen it:

I like to create and roleplay funny overweight characters in games when it's possible. Unfortunately I can't tell yet how heavy characters can currently be made in ESO because of NDA.
Gut slider to max.
One thing is apparent from the vid: there are lots of sliders, which is great, but the range of the sliders is too narrow :/
I understand the reason though: clipping. Give a character really big hips, and when the arms are at the sides they'll clip through, for instance. Takes physics to deal with stuff like that naturally
someone in the beta will never know what a laugh he gave some of us with his particular character appearance XD
There you go - A beta review to all - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT6mR_JYk28
No This is not my review I am just following this guy in Youtube
I hope that this helps around a bit,
The char customizations have been showed in the official ZOS videos at length, so I'm pretty sure it's not breaking any nda.
There is an official Character Build Workshop video. It and a few other nice videos can be found http://next-year-in-cyrodiil.guildlaunch.com/index.php?gid=363362&sso=1392286713.
I was having to check out that host because the LOTRO Kinship I'm in needed a bolt-hole should Guild Portal vanish. As I enjoyed the first beta so much I thought I might as well base the test on TESO as anything.
On character creation - I didn't spend any time on it in beta - just hit randomise a few times. Not worth the effort of fine tuning characters that will be wiped.
I think that first hours will be .... do I want this look or that look or this figure or those hair styles... I am horrible.
Me also I suspect. I know what my Breton should look like. Not so sure about about the imperial though. I hope we get a cosmetic clothing system like LOTRO some point soon.
I think that he covered it well - I was almost doing the facepalm emote in the buss while I was listening him at this morning when he mentioned that starter islands and exploration things... but over all he made it so well that I could not give him or
but I wont derail this thread with " starter islands and exploration things "
As a lot of first impressionists put it: There are tons of customization options, more than anything seen in a MMO.
Indeed. While I understand why they did it that way for the body sliders, I simply can't agree with this option for the face sliders. It is a shame, really.
Another thing that is apparent from the vid is the small number of hair colors and the limitations based on race. While I understand that they are trying to keep it lore-friendly, it saddens me a bit, because hair is something that can be dyed since pretty early in the history of humanity and I can't see why it wouldn't be possible on the universe of TES. I don't want crazy colors like hot-pink, I just want more options. Of course, I can live with that, but I hope that the game itself will have more options than the beta.
Character creation is nearly identical to Age of Conan's, lots of options. You can even select different voices to use, they use the exact same triangle thing for the body type.

This thread is hilarious, NDA this NDA that. Well char customization has been shown in previews from press and even an official video. What you saw in the official video still stands, you can make fat characters or very slim ones that look like undead skeletons. The customization is very good on all areas and only the face itself is still not perfect as the triangle options for it do not have a HUGE impact, the differences are pretty big but could be a lot better.
