My Character's Evolution By Way of Skyrim's "class"

Post » Sat Jun 25, 2011 5:01 am

1. I intend to start out playing as a stealth type character with the bow being my primary weapon.
2. I'll find out how awesome it is to 1-stab kill someone from the shadows with the (estimated) 10x dagger damage [http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/01/24/skyrim-building-better-combat.aspx?PostPageIndex=3&%3BPageIndex=3&PageIndex=1] perk and switch my main weapon to dagger.
3. After some travels/quests around Skyrim, I'll run into the mages guild and learn about how awesome new spells can be in manipulating/destroying enemies...(*tosses dagger aside).

Point is...no matter what, I'm sure on my FIRST play through, I'll end up playing a caster :P
My second play through, I'll try to have a little more self control and stay stealth.

How do you think your first play through might evolve?

sounds stupid.... why not make first char a try everything out. and then go with a play through that favors what you like most.. Would be a waste of perks to go stealth first then caster.. unless you make a stealth mage... sounds wierd for me..

Im going with playthroughs with the archtypes and then try to mix it up in other playthroughs.. The thing i havent decided is warrior. Sword'n'shield or 2H

1. Thief - Bow/Dagger
2. Mage
3. warrior
4. ?
5. ?

I want to play primarily as Stealth. I don't want to use much magic, if at all. I'd like Alchemy to be my magic.

I also don't want to use Dragon Shouts if I don't have to, and would like to see if it's possible to beat the game without using one at all.

But can you imagine sneaking around a camp of giants that you want to take out and call forth a lightning storm with a dragon shout, while raining down arrows?

Yes, I see now that you edited your original post. :P

I'm not really sure yet, I originally wanted to play as a Nord Barbarian but I think the voice is terrible.
I might play as a Dunmer Battlemage. But I really don't know yet.
And my characters don't really evolve, I get an idea and I stick with it.

Unlike previous TES games, I will actually try playing a few characters that don't use any spellcasting whatsoever.

Since there are 280 perks available, I think it will finally be fun to play a pure thief or warrior character.

Also, we will have Dragon Shouts.

My stealth guy is the one I try to break game mechanics with... trying to do crazy things that shouldn't work.

I'll also have a Nord Warrior (sword/shield/spells) that will walk the straight and narrow and play the game the way Bethesda wants me to ;)

use swords and spells, with a dagger for backup dual wielding. i will pay respect to each noble dragon I slay. they may be fierce beasts out to destroy the world, but they are still the most noble creature in tamriel.

My characters will be the same as in Oblivion: An Assassin with daggers, shortswords, bows, poisons protected by light armor stealth. And a Spellsword, heavy armor, longswords and shields, greatswords and harming, healing and protection spells of all ranges.

In Oblivion they both are typically female khajiits, but if elves and humans look less stupid i may change that. ...Eventually :hehe:

I play those characters in Fallout too, handguns and rifles, and power armor and energy weapons respectively :hehe:

I will play the same types of characters as I always do. Warrior for my mainquest/testing playthrough and then Stealth for my real playthrough(with mods). This time though I may for the first time also play a mage character.

do your warrior and stealth characters usually learn some spells?

i'm hoping that with an abundance of perks (and dragon shouts), that will no longer be de rigueur.
