Character idea: Champion of Auri-el.

Post » Tue Jul 16, 2013 9:41 am

It came to my mind after doing the Dawnguard questline.

Equipment:

Ancient falmer armor

Auri-El's bow (most important weapon for me IMO)

Sunhallowed arrows

I am considering Dawnbreaker for close combat, but not sure.

Auri-el's shield is fitting, but I find it odd to use a shield when you're focused on archery. Not to forget it is heavy, not light.

Skills: ?=not sure

Light armor

Archery

One-handed

Smithing (This is fairly important to make elven arrows to turn into sunhallowed arrows.)

Restoration (?, I am considering this because of the "light" atmosphere. Also, an elven champion might want to stay youthfull regardless of age so that she may do her duty for as long as possible. Restoration could definitely help here. )

Blocking (?, depends if I will go for the shield or not.)

Appearance:

Female bosmer with white hair, slim body. White or yellow warpainting that looks like two suns on the eyes.

Name: Dunno yet. Galadri?l sounds nice.

Factions:

Dawnguard obviously.

Not sure about the empire or the rebellion, but I am leaning to the rebellion.

Dragonborn:

Not sure yet. Akatosh might find a champion of an elven god usefull.

Personality:

Kindhearted

Rather stubborn, but always has good motivations.

Tends to underestimate herself.

Full of energy, very active.

Suggestions?

Ofcourse Galadri?l won't know about becoming a champion yet. So she will start out as a regular hunter. Maybe with Skaal armor.

Sounds great.
Use an Elven or glass sword if you decide to go for the shield.

A sword I will use, no doubt. For close combat.

The reason why I am not sure about the shield is mainly because it might be a bit clumsy to use for an archer. I think Galadri?l would prefer to stick with one blade in close combat to stay agile.

nothing wrong with using a shield in melee on an archer character. An archer/sword and board character is very mobile and has few weaknesses. I would get Chillrend to pair with the shield, its a blue glass sword.

Or use Chillrend with Dawndreaker and duel wield for close combat.

I don't know, I just get that feeling that the shield would get in her way. Don't know why. Maybe because it is a heavy shield.

I love that Ancient Falmer Armor. :)

After a long time displaying it on one mannequin or another, I decided to wear it on my Redguard guy 'Smitty".

It Smiths up beautifully, offering good protection (and looks killer with a white fur Light Armor cowl).

Re: Auriel's Shield

This is a fantastic thing!

If you don't have it - get back in there, into the Vale*, and don't come back without it...

It looks SO GOOD on the wall, you don't even want to carry it.

*How can you tell if you're playing way too much Skyrim?

When you know The Vale like the back of your hand, heheh...

I'm afraid I don't have a pc. But when I do, I will remake this character and give her a thick white fur cloak to go with the ancient falmer armor. And maybe use console commands for the ancient falmer crown.

I will definitely get the shield, because Galadri?l has to make sure the artifact is at a safe spot. However, I got my doubts that she would use it.
