Verinne Ravenwing:
I approached the Jarl, trying to project both calm and intent. Well, that was a juggling act - and I really wasn't sure it was very effective. I bowed - this was a woman of power, I could feel it - and as perhaps the last Skyrim Raven, she merited both my fealty, and my honor.
"So. The world brings you to me. We will see what we will see, Raven-child."
I suppose my jaw dropped. It took me a bit to get back to working order. "Jarl Ravencrone. I greet you, Raven to Raven. While I have - questions - about Raven Clan, I prefer first to address a problem here in Morthal: that burned house, and the feelings of your people about it. Would you have me do what I might to find the truth?"
She gazed at me long and long. I waited, possessing myself in as much patience as I might (for me, not particularly easy). Finally, she stirred, sitting up a bit straighter. "Aye. What I cannot do, you may - seek the truth. If Hroggar is guilty or innocent, I will reward you - for finding that truth. And - when the truth is known.... we will speak further of - Raven Clan."
That was a clear dismissal. I bowed again, and removed myself, nodding to her husband as I headed for the door. He stopped me, a hand to my arm. "Thank you. You were.... kind and calm.... and have given her somewhat to consider. If you need anything...." I smiled at him; I thought him a fine looking man, and one who cared deeply for his wife. Bowing again, I left Highmoon Hall.
