Hi fellow explorers of Skyrim!

I have had great fun playing the game so far, I can really spend hours on it without getting bored!
But one thing has been bugging me: it seems my character is pretty weak. At the moment I have a nord specializing in heavy armor (skill 51), 2 handed weapons (skill 71) and restoration (skill 31: its extremely hard to level?).

I'm playing the game on adept, my character is level 24 with full daedric armor and the daedric warhammer (none enchanted). I have no problem defeating certain enemies, 2 or 3 maybe. But if feels like the gap between
2 or 3 normal enemies and a special enemy is so big? I'm now at the battle with the dragon that you have to capture and than set free, but he seems to be waaaay stronger than me. (although i must have killed atleast 5-6 dragons already)

Is it worth contiunuing with this character or should i make another one? If so what type of build would you recommend (i dont play mage or ranged)?
