Character Updates

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 12:21 am

Not really a character update, but something I wanted to mention. My friends and I went to see a movie, which one of my friends picked - a movie (which IMO is pretty pad ...) called Mirror Mirror. It was quite funny when a character appeared and started talking in Martin Septim's voice - well, Sean Bean's voice. I didn't really pay attention to what he said because it was odd seeing a human and not an Oblivion Character!

Anywho, Eleanor is wandering the wilderness - no better way to put it! She left Fergus at their Chorrol home and she wandered through the Great Forest, heading west. Her eventual destination is Cheydinhal, where she wants to see how the Mage's Guild hall is going with its change in leadership, and I suspect she'll be making a stopover in Bruma, to admire that statue of herself!

Where did Baa pick up her companion? There's something instantly likeable about her. I think she reminds me of myself a little, though my hair isn't blonde.

Her name is Mooch. She is a clone of CM Partners Piper that I then moded to change her AI to our liking. Her hair is actually dark, that’s a blond wig she is wearing - it fits in the helmet slot. She has a wicked laugh when she's fighting with a sword.

@Grits
Another DiD player then I recon? Another one bit the dust..
My non-story characters are DiD, but the ones from my fanfic are not. Their games support the story rather than the other way around. So they don’t get to die until I kill them. :P I presently have DiD Darian the scout and now also Eliette the Breton arcane archer (new character).

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Eliette.png hails from a farming community in the Reach. She decided she’d had enough of digging more rocks than potatoes, so she headed south to learn magic at the Arcane University. A mix-up with lost luggage combined with the news that the AU was closed to her sparked a fit of temper. That led to a stay in the Imperial Prison. No real harm was done, but she learned that these Imperials do not tolerate sass from northerners.

While she was in prison she had a terrible dream. Thankfully when she awakened she was still safely in her cell awaiting release, not scampering off across the countryside with a dead emperor’s jewelry. Whew! She did eventually get annoyed at the prisoner across the hall. She tried to toss a few flares through the bars. First character I’ve ever had who did that!

So far Eliette has gotten a task from Dagail and earned a recommendation from Kud-Ei. Now she’s headed to Chorrol to hopefully find a Command spell and a better summons. She has a touch fire spell to use in melee range, but she prefers to block with her bow and then take another shot. This is not a solid plan, as she wears no armor. This girl has more nerve than sense.

She loves Bravil. This is interesting to me. I have also never had a character who lived there.

New character: Fitzie. "Hissee Fitz" is her actual name (her parents had a sense of humor), but her friends (and anybody with any sense of self-preservation) call her Fitzie. She was mentioned briefly before, and a picture posted in the Screenshot thread.

Fitzie is a Nearsighted Necromancer. She's a Breton, born under the sign of the Atronach, and skilled in Conjuration, Mysticism, and Alteration. She is unable to use any ranged weapon or targeted spell, due to her Myopia. (Because of her casting limitation, I've balanced her a bit by giving her the Apprentice-level Summon Zombie as a starter spell.)

Her zombie's name is Tommy Rot.

Fitzie's adventure began at the Roxie Inn. She came there in search of her Aunt Raelynn, who was rumored to be living somewhere nearby. Her aunt, her last living relative, had disappeared from the clan's Sanctuary up North at about the same time that Fitzie's parents had been murdered and the family treasures stolen. Fitzie came searching for answers.

She was directed to a nearby cave by the inn's Publican, and there she found her aunt, along with a gang of other necromancers. All were hostile. Aunt Raelynn's last words, before Tommy Rot strangled the life out of her, were "I should have killed you with your parents, when I had the chance." The remains of the family belongings, a few odd gems and an enchanted robe, were strewn beneath a statue of Molag Bal. Aunt Raelynn the Gravefinder had seemingly gone down a dark path.

Now Fitzie is alone and undecided about her future. She would like to join the Mages Guild, but she has heard that they do not like necromancers. She knows that a lot of Cyrodiil's necromancers have been driven underground, to live in ruins and damp caves. She doesn't want that. It might be wisest, she thinks, to keep her family and background a secret, for now at least...

There is one for Skyrim - it moved to cheats, hints and spoilers :) it was started by someone who used to frequent these Oblivion threads, I believe.

That said, the thread is kind of dead. Hopefully you can revive it for us?

Today Baa wandered around aimlessly for a while and ran across this unmarked place again after several years: http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh539/tmodel/Baa2012-04-16-02.jpg. There’s actually a butterfly down there.

Then she got a little more serious about what she should do. Even though Baa has been Arch-Mage for years, she knows very little about most magic. So, she poked around in her spell list and found a Fire Damage 20 spell and put that on. Her Destruction stat was at 49 plus a little and she wanted to get it to at least 50/Journeyman.

Baa fast traveled to Fisherman’s Rock, went north along the water to the Panther River, then up it to Fort Gold-Throat. She blasted everything she encountered along the way, everything from Mud Crabs to Will o’ the Wisps. (By the way, the fireball shoots low right compared to arrows which shoot high right.)

She shot one Will o’ the Wisp at max range across the river and it went up the river a half mile to a bridge, crossed over to Baa’s side, then came back down the river. It took a good minute or two. Thought that was funny.

The last Land Druge she ran across put her over 50 and she got her Journeyman certificate in Destruction. She continued on for a while, finding Nirnroot 239 and fire balling more stuff. By the time she got to Fort Gold-Throat, it was time to quit.

Turning around, Baa saw the shaft of light going skyward from the alter at Wendelbek with one of the moons in the background. She couldn’t resist taking this shot: http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/hh539/tmodel/Baa2012-04-16-03.jpg.

As stated elsewhere, another name appears on-screen during those few instances where it is shown in-game. My decrepit avatar was originally conceived as a thrown-away character with which to learn game mechanics. Due to that I put no thought into naming but instead saddled him with one of my standard RP names. It's a good name, but not suitable for a Nord. That being the case, I began thinking of him as decrepit, which perfectly describes his circumstances during the years immediately prior to finding himself in the Imperial Prison.

Huh. That's interesting. What's his real name, then?

I have to see this movie. I don't care if its' bad, I wanna see it just 'cuz of your description!

She loves Bravil. This is interesting to me. I have also never had a character who lived there.

Renee Gade II loved Bravil. She loved it because of its ruggedness. It's like a frontier town or something, with all its wooden buildings.

New character: Fitzie. "Hissee Fitz" is her actual name

 Funny, glargg. I can't believe Hissee Fitz killed her aunt. :(

It's all right. She's a necromancer. Her summoned ghost/wraith (and her lich, should she get so high in skill) will be called "Aunt Raelynn." You didn't think "Auntie" was going to get off that easily, did you? :)

My decrepit avatar took some time off from his normal road patrol routine to deliver potentially good news to a fellow he did much work for in the past. The man's dwelling is off the beaten path...way off. Getting there is no easy undertaking. Bit of a time-sink too.

Having done that, he's eager to resume patrolling, especially as Bravil is next up on the roster. Bravil being the final patrol of a rotation cycle, completing it earns a small but welcome monetary pay-bonus. He might also collect taxes-due at one of the Yellow Road Inns, but that will most likely wait until his next Leyawiin patrol assignment.

Mycharacter now is a new character, level 3, just escorted Martin to the Temple, she just become The Blades, and she is now at Imperial City to meet Baurus. She don't do any side quests, just main quest for now.

This is the latest character i made for the past 3 weeks, i don't know if i want to keep her. So far she is tough now. Her strength 70 with +7 Fortify Strength Sigil Stone enchantment on a ring. She is now using Akaviri Dai-Katana and Blades Armor.

She is an "Adventurer", with all combat skills and no magic at all for now.

Class : Adventurer
Race : Imperial
Birth Sign : Warrior
Major Skill : Acrobatic, Athletic, Armorer, Blade, Block, Marksman, Heavy Armor.

Heh. Probably just another mod keeps track. J/K. Yea, I like reading his posts, too. His game is so different from all of ours, with the tax collections & supplies updates.

Eliette put Chorrol’s walls at her back and headed up the Orange Road for the second time that day. Athragar had been right. Her new zombie summons was fast, aggressive, and sturdy, just what an apprentice archer needed. Spells came readily to her Breton mind, but marksmanship was more of a struggle to master. The bandits along the road were all stronger and faster than Eliette, but now they were rotting under the sun and she had a few coins in her purse. She thought that she might be all right, as long as she remembered to cast quickly and start to run before the enemy reached her.

A breeze moved through the high branches as she made her way through the forest. If the weather stayed clear, there should be fine views from the road. She cast her Detect Life spell as she walked, checking for hungry surprises. Even with her new spells, a single wolf could still kill her. Keeping the zombie summoned at her side was just too disgusting to consider. Eliette sighed. Maybe he wouldn’t smell so bad in the cold air of Bruma.

The reigh of the Red-Tooths came one step closer to fruition today with the the peace accord signed between New Kvatch & Cheydinhal. The document recognizes the newly rebuilt town and the countess as the rightful leader. The treaty also calls for diplomats and free trade between the cities. Cheydinhal is the fourth city to recognize the countess' legitimacy. Leyawiin, Skingrad, and Chorrol have also signed similar treaties.

(In game translation: My vampire has gained free reign over a fourth castle, Cheydinhal. Not too many more before she will be named emperor.)
