Characters Name

Post » Wed Apr 29, 2009 5:03 pm

As the topic says, what is your characters name and why?
Do you name your characters after yourself or something random?
My character was called Barry, as there is a teacher at my school called Mr. Barry and I couldn't help but laugh when he would talk to me (plus I couldn't think of anything else :P)
Let's hear how your came about your names!

Lewis. 'Cause he looks like a Lewis, and I based his background off a mentioned character from Fallout 3 whose fate is unknown... until now!

Indy, because I was planning on siding with Yes Man (for Indy Vegas) and I saw Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arch the evening I created the character

I usually name my characters Velvet Edge. It's the title of a song by the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj2HdBwbQbM.

Ssenkrad Looc is the name of my Drow elf, from back in the early '80s when I played pen-and-paper AD&D. Read it backward.

Red Trapper, an ol' scav looking for loot and prospecting, name as the discription red hair and hunts for stuff in the wastes.

Delaque a ganger and murderer, taken from Necromunda.

Susie Springs a cowboy caravaneer, descended from a british madam in NV that made a fortune on a tribal in PA.
Name taken from the first female character name I found in Flashman and the redskins

Foxglove Lovelace a tribal hippy med head, from a tribe descended from a military hospital.
Name from flowers, and that it fits.

Red Fist, A savage psychotic raider, unarmed, melee and explosives sets traps then beats to death as many as possible.
Name it fits, though I forgot about Fisto so bad choice in reality.

Jack. Because I use it when I don't want to give people my real name.

However I want to change it to Jack Skoomanova after something someone posted in the skyrim section.

I just name my PC Justin after myself, I'm not very interested in RPing as a female or as a psycho or whatever. I just do what I'd do if it was me.

My first character was Jesus, but I accidentally overwrote my save before the Dam and so had to start again with Elvis, named so because of how much Ioved I the Kings on my first playthrough. My final Legion character was Borgia.

Madocmayhem, I knew you'd have some great names and you do!

I Was Out Of Name Ideas, your username might be out of ideas but your PC's names are great!

Elvis, I haven't used Elvis yet for a name but I have used Jesus both for my FO3 guy and my New Vegas guy.
____________

My PC Names, hmmm, lot's of them...

Males:
Alexander - Legion
Dalton Blue derived from Texas Blue when his first game got corrupted - NCR
Di Kwan Hu - Independent
Diego - unfinished
Diesel (radier) - unfinished
Dirty Boy (raider) - Mr House
God (Dog spelled backwards, raider) - Independent
Jet (raider) - unfinished
Jesus - unfinished
Marc Antony - Legion
Mitki - unfinished
Pez (raider) - Legion
Psycho (raider) - unfinished
Riddike - unfinished
Rowdy Roland - unfinished
Scum (raider) - unfinished
Snow Flake (raider) - Independent
Stanley - Legion
Suede - Yes Man
TexMex - unfinished
Zev - unfinished
_______________

Females:
Bouncing Betty (raider) - unfinished
Celeste - NCR
Dizzy - unfinished (she's my really stupid character, intelligence of 1)
Karla - NCR
LadyM - NCR
Misery (raider) - Independent
Mitshi - unfinished
Nasty Nan (raider) - unfinished
Omni - Independent
Raider Riki (raider) - almost done, will be independent
Saturn - unfinished (she was my very first character)
Solace - unfinished
Yumi - Independent

I test a lot of mods for modders and sometimes my saves get corrupted, hence so many characters. I'm lucky to have saves of all my games so I can sometimes go way back to Doc Mitchell's and rescue a favorite of mine like Texas Blue, he was recently revived and is playing quite well. I also have more males than females cause I like guys and really, the only reason I have as many of the females as I do is for mod testing, mostly the working girl mod which is a riot. He doesn't have it set for males yet so to test it, I have to use females.

Carlos
Miza
Elizabeth
Jane
Cherry
Jim
Bianca
Why?
Cause they're hot.
I always just use the first name that pops into my head when creating a character, I never have any ultimate agenda with it or any inspiration I drew from somewhere. I just pick 'em off the top of my head and roll with it.

It's a cool name, and I like history.

1st Character's name is usually my own, Max.
And then, in keeping with the old West theme in FONV:
Frank James, Founding member of the James Gang.
John Henry "Doc" Holliday (1851-1887) - Deputized by Virgil Earp in Tombstone, Arizona to help in stopping the crimes of the Clanton Gang, which culminated with a gunfight at the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in October, 1881. He died in a of tuberculosis in Colorado in 1887.
John M. Larn (1849-1877) - Both an outlaw and lawman in Shackleford County, Texas, Larn got involved in a tough vigilante group called the Tin Hat Brigade, who eventually killed him.
William Faulkner - U.S. Deputy Marshal commissioned out of the federal court in Van Buren, Arkansas serving under Marshal William A. Britton. In 1868, William arrested Amos McCurtain, a murderer and the last man to be hung at Van Buren on June 24, 1870
