Charecter customization

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:50 pm

I just want to know how much are we gonna have to work with this time, it just seemed no matter what I did with like fallout3 and FNV and originally oblivion it was never quite enough to make the characters seem truly me or mine completely . I want scars and more eye types and more hair options, I want to be fat if I choose and short or tall as I wish (to a decent degree). Slim or bodybuilder types to go with my thief /mage or warrior/barbarian.

I hope that they make it better than oblivion.

Handlebar mustache or die.

Never played as a guy, but I would so play as a Lemmy. He'd make such a cute berserker.

Same goes for Argonians, Orcs and Khajits. They have to look like, well, non-human races.

I definitely think the body type should be in the game, the scars is definitley another great idea. Maybe some preloaded tatoos? Actual beards would be nice also. Maybe they could add some earrings into the item list, or other types of jewelry.

I would much rather prefer, beautiful looking presets (a la Morrowind) as opposed to the facial rendering technologies in FO3 and Oblivion. With the budget an resources this team has, making at least 10 faces per gender, per race would not sacrifice much in terms of diversity amongst characters, but it would be a tremendous upgrade to what they used in Oblivion

I get what you mean. The visuals in Morrowind were weird, but bearable, while in Oblivion - total freak show. Sometimes, simple is best.

... But I have too much fun tweaking facial features.

There should be more customization like scars and tattoos!

Aye, the upcoming EVE character customizer was exactly what came to mind when I saw this thread. It is freaking amazing.

I think a couple more hair and facial hair options would do the trick. And the character creation tools should really be fixed for user friendliness..

Also a few body customization options wouldn't hurt either, like height and weight, as mentioned above.

Yes, I find that one of the features lacking with the elder scroll series and fallout - I would spend hours tweaking my character if the customization was that good
but I do understand the difficulty in it if not all characters are humans but still if they can somehow implement something this awesome into it - all of us will be drooling.

Through this thread I Kinda wish the Regions switched places.......Cyrodiil is much larger than Skyrim, I'm completely aware Skyrim is not all snow and mountains. AND has the highest point in Tameriel however my point.

TES is filled with Varients of each race, the hopes that the CCS would dwarf Oblivions in size and complexity. but as well as including different varients of each race, why not add in more visual features, scars, tones, everything having its niche rather than Oblivions, setting beard in Tones tab resulting in a dark patch of eww skin.

The Issue with having race Varients.

This is Skyrim, not exactly the melting pot of Tamriel, so..that hopes feels as if it falls short.

I don't care what they do with the character customization so long as the females actually look feminine!

As long as its even better than Oblivion's, (and i'm betting it will be) then I will be pleased with it.

It would be amazing if they could implement this advanced of a character creation system into Skyrim. APB, for all the things it did wrong, did have an amazing character creation system as well and would be a good model for Bethesda to follow:

I should be able to have a beard that goes down to my chest if I want. Definitely need to fix the facial hair.

First post :) Long time fan

I don't know why this hasn't been mentioned yet, but I would really like to see some sort of Face Recognition and Importing. Rainbow Six Vegas did it with the old school xbox camera. Now with Kinect maybe we can get some really advanced version of this? In R6V it really looked pretty good. I loved it. Having that sort of customization option would be a huge plus to Skyrim IMO

In other words, I would buy a Kinect, just for the ability to import my face onto my character in Skyrim

Good looking presets are a must. It was a chore to get anything remotely decent looking in Oblivion (on 360) for non-beast races.

They need more player models for both NPCs and the player. Also like Stink said it would be cool if they implemented face mapping, like Fight Night Round 4 or Tiger Woods PGA. You wouldn't really need the Kinect in order to do this, if they had some place to import pictures on their website then that would work perfect.

I think if they just had a few player model option would be all that is needed. Just 3 player models, thin, muscular, and overweight.
