Charisma based perks

Post » Fri Aug 20, 2010 5:09 pm

are they?

I'm about at lvl 6 with my new diplomat character. I'd like to take all the charisma based perk but none of them seem very promising.

seems more logical to just pump speech and sneak and invest in other skills.

Opinions ?

Unless you are role playing Dr. Doolittle, skip the animal friends perk.

I agree, pump speech and sneak.
I wouldn't touch the animal friendship perk, it doesn't seem at all worth it.
The Ferocious Loyalty perk looks decent but it depends on how you use your buddies.
The confirmed bachelor/black widow is good to do extra damage to males and the added speech options may be fun but I haven't tried it to know first hand but I wouldn't bother with the female damage one as there are not enough female enemies in the game IMO.

Unless you are taking the LK and CB perks for the extra damage, I think they are a total waste in terms of diplomacy. There just aren't enough places to use them.

You know i took both of these as I was really trying to stay charisma based, I'm lvl 10 and haven't seen ONE speech option for either of these.

I've seen a couple of Confirmed Bachelor options appear in dialogue. Not many, but they're there. :\

Ive gotten a few Confirmed Bachelor dialoges, and they have really helped. Even gotten me some free stuff.

Except rank 2 will actually cause trained attack dogs to turn against their masters in your defense.

I've seen a couple "Lady Killer" options that were also very helpful. You're right about there being fewer females to fight, but I mainly took it for the entertainment factor.

They are really bad, 99% of the time you can get the same result as the LK/CB perk with just plain speech, and the other 1% just gives you a slight edge (usually more caps).

Some examples are:

Spoiler
Gibson will sell you the rocket parts cheaper.

Knight will give you free repairs for any and all your weapons and armor once, which is insanely good, but it only works once so meh.

You can convince various Freeside people to give you extra caps during the debt collector quest.

Almost every single time I see the LK/CB dialogue options pop up it just nets me more caps, and that is so easy to come across anyway.
