Charisma Perk: Lone Wanderer

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:34 pm

I am working on my character build for the upcoming Fallout 4 game, and I like going alone, but would love to bring my dog with me everywhere. So my question is, does the "Lone Wanderer" perk relate to humanoid companions, or would bringing "Dogmeat" with my character negate the Lone Wanderer perk?

It seems to me that Lone Wanderer means exactly that, lone.

If the dog was allowed I think they would have at least not missed a chance to call the Perk "A Boy/Girl and His/Her Dog".

Why does the Lone Wanderer have such a high charisma and requirement? Shouldn't it be first or second?

Hm. They should've named the "attack dog" perk this.

Maybe the high charisma translates to massive confidence in one's own badass nature? A transfiguration, if you will, of their swag incorporated into their YOLO to walk the waste alone wilst they whip, and occasionally nae nae.

Golf clap.
-
I could see it as needing two.

CHARISMA 1: "I wanna talk to people."
CHARISMA 2: "...good lord, people are stupid."
CHARISMA 3+: "I'm getting shot A LOT OW OW OW NEED MORE FRIENDS ARGH"

As long as they are dismissed it wouldn't count against lone wanderer. Now, if you just told them to wait somewhere and you didn't dismiss them.. then it'd probably still count as you having a companion no matter how far away from them you were. I doubt there's a proximity thing with companions. They are either in your part or not.

Because of the bonuses it gives, just look at that extra damage resistance and carry weight. And I don't get why you'd call charisma 3 a high charisma... a perk with DR and carry weight bonuses for being alone shouldn't be before such standard perks as lady killer and cap collector for lower prices, so its spot is just fine.

Always like to have high Charisma and I'm almost always alone. Only ever had ED:E as a companion. (using him as a mobile container) So this is going to be one of the perks I'll work toward.

...7...
