Okay I have this mod (I have several mods actually but this is the one I believe causing my problem) called My Home is Your Home which lets me assign anywhere as a Follower's home.

During the Dawnguard quest Chasing Echoes where I go through Castle Volkihar's courtyard to find Valerica's study. Everything up to the point I arrive in the courtyard proceeds normally, then all of a sudden I lose sight of Serana. I didn't make a big deal of it because I often lose followers but they turn up eventually when I load a new cell. Anyway once in the tower Serana still isn't back, I didn't think really anything of it but I got to the top, fighting through everything without her. Finally in Valerica's study I hear her voice and she shows up and gives me the normal quest prompt to look for clues.

I find the journal and the ingredients I need, and this is when I realize... Serana is gone. I exit out the balcony, fast travel, I go through numerous cells and she doesn't show back up. So i reload back into the tower and I use the console to summon her to me (moveto player) and she pops in, I talk to her, say I got the ingredients and she says she'll do her part now and try to open the portal and... she walks away... like down the tower, nothing I say to her stops her from moving down the tower, she won't wait, she won't follow, she kept descending.

So I thought I'd figure out where she went, reloaded and this time just moved me to her. Turns out she was sitting pretty in my house (Whiterun Mansion, another mod). Apparently I had at some point used the My Home is Your Home mod to reset her home to Whiterun Mansion. Problem is she doesn't behave like a normal follower, at least not yet. I also use EFF (Extensible Follower Framework) and don't have the standard follower commands available to her yet, so I figure she's being treated as a special case. Anyway no matter what I do, even if I tell her to unmark her home, she still leaves. I don't know how to make her stop. I can't just disable the mod because I use multiple followers and have them set up in multiple different houses and I fear removing the mod would break their AI in some bad way.

So I'm wondering how exactly I can fix this quest? I guess I could setstage to complete but would this open the Soul Cairn portal? Even if it does, Serana is still not being my "follower" right now so I don't know if setstage would really fix this so that she'd behave right for the rest of the quests?

I do have a save from back when she was behaving right but it's a signifcant time loss, I'd like to try and fix her.
