cheapest stims? shop with high repair?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:54 am

So I'm starting to get that cap flow going by selling stuff, but i want to get weapons made with schematics, so instead of repairing it with a copy of the weapon, i need to know some places with the highest repair skill and cheapest if possible.

stimpacks are a must, what is the cheapsest shop to get stimpacks at and how do i get to these places?

You will find, so much crap out there to make your custom weapons, that you will never have to pay for repairs, unless you are a very early level. The prices of all items that can be purchased in the game, is tied directly to your barter skill. You will get the same price everywhere, unless your barter skill changes.

Me personally I never have to buy stimpacks even early on I just use the regular food to recover my health. If my limbs are broken then I'll use a stimpack and if my health is low I'll use the stimpack

If you were nice to Gob at the bar in Megaton when you first met him, he's a good hookup for discounted stimpaks.

Best repair I find is the traders once you invest in their trade caravans.

I think Haley from Point Lookout has the highest repair overall although you have to use a glitch for that to occur

That's not entirely true, prices are also tied to the merchant's disposition towards you. For instance in Megaton, if you're nice to Gob he'll give you better deals than anyone else in the town. But for the most part it doesn't matter all that much. I think he's the only one where it makes a difference in fact.

I never knew this. Since I am playing an unarmed character I can't seem to find enough stims. I will try Gob. Thanks

If you complete the optional objective in Rivet City during the Wasteland Survival Guide quest by talking to Pinkerton about the city's true history, you'll get an additional discount from all the traders there (10%, IIRC).

If you crush moria's dream of writing the survival guide, she get a pretty big repair boost. But this means ending the quest so it is a big trade off.
