When i use the additem gold_100 [amount] cheat it dosen't give me any money, any ideas?

Try this, without quotes: "player->additem gold_001 [amount]"

You have to specify where the gold needs to go, like the previous poster mentioned, otherwise the console doesn't know where to place the gold. Anytime you want to do something, or add something, to your character you have to prefix it with 'player->' then the code.
