While there i found a gold boost cheat, which input instructions read as follows.
In the middle of play press the '' ~ '' key to get to the console window. For cheats that affect your character, type: "player->" followed by any of the codes from the list below.

Cheat Effect
additem gold_001 {number} Gold Boost

So i load my game start running around and press the "tilde" ~ bringing up the console screen. I then input the code additem gold_1000 and kept getting these response.

Script SysWindow CompileAndRun You need to enter a count on line 1.. if thats the cas then where exactly do i enter the amount that i want?

So I tried several variations of the code.
player->additem gold_001 {1000}
player-> additem gold_1000
additem gold1000
additem gold_1000
additem gold_001 {1000} etc... etc...

Which resulted in these type messages Script SysWindows CompileAndRun item gold__1000 was not found on line 1.......

So i guess first and foremost does a cheat like that require the "player->"? and if so do i put a space inbetween it and the code?
Secondly... what relevance does the _ have in the code is it a fill in tne blank sort of thing? rewriting the code without it _ in it?
The close} and open{ brace? do they need to be present?
So basically i just need an example of how to properly type this code as if say i wanted 1000 g???

and if that wansnt bad enough, after all the mistyping i found my self with a screen full of wrong codes and error messages in my console and dont know how to delete/remove them.
any help would be appreciated greatly..

Open the console and type

player->additem gold_001 1000

Enter, close console.

That adds 1000 gold to your inventory, you can use any amount up to 65535, after that it resets the amount to zero.
