will there be cheat codes in the game for offline purposes, like god mode or jumping high, etc?

I don't think there will be cheats since the multi-player, single-player and co-op are all combined into one.

Why are people always looking for a way to cheat and get an advantage in the game instead of practicing and putting in the time to get good.

I'm sorry, but you start that topic to ask if there will be cheats for a game, which is just in early beta and focusses on objective/multiplayer?
I can't understand some people.

For one, no. Cheats are for noobs.

And secondly, you only have a certain amount of time before the A.I completes the objectives. It's been said how advanced the bots are, and if you aren't paying attention to the game, the bots will be able to complete the objectives.

Although it was also be a very annoying process to add stupid cheats into the game, so you wouldn't be able to gain experience. Also, as mentioned before, I don't see a reason to possibly delay the game just because somebody things they need to ruin the gameplay mechanics just because somebody wants to add stupid effects.

Cheats are not neccesarily for noobs. For example I had loads of fun in COD4 like running through a level using only a sniper in close range with slo-mo.

Not a good example.

cheats? i use a lot of cheats, i can spam them, but in a fps? keep practicing, it isn't that hard to be good, as for having a godmode.. what's so fun about not dieing?
the way i see it, it's boring as whatever, just run around and stand still with everyone shooting at you... very fun...

I dont see a problem with someone cheating as long as they keep it to themself or friends. I couldnt imagine cheats being in Brink, but who know. I love messing around when cheats after I've been a game, Saints Row? Those cheats were freaking fun for me. Going co-op making cars chase you and just trying to dodge them all.

Brink isn't that type of game though. Saint's Row and GTA are free running 3rd person shooters. This is an objective, squad based game. Besides, I don't want someone suddenly joining my game with a OHK weapons the destroy everyone in sight, like in borderlands, stripping the fun from the game.

I don't mind cheats being in SP games, but since Brink is a mixture of SP, Co-op and MP, it will be more difficult to add cheats.

Cheats for MP is not done. Cheaters and Hackers in MP fail and should be banned.

and putting in cheats in SP wouldn't work either, since they'd lvl by cheating there, prior to going multiplayer, acting like they're the best, but using a foulmouth whenever they die

Yes, indeed. That's what I wanted to say. Because singleplayer and multiplayer are linked, it's almost impossible to make it work.
(It is possible though, cheats enabled as long as you only play with bots, with ranking and xp disabled)

The Hitman series. Which happens to be the only games I use cheats in too, the slowmo cheat can be quite fun to use at times.
