Yo, check out my Bling Bling

I always find it frustrated in Oblivion that you could only wear One Amulet or One Ring, while i had to sacrifice my Favorite Magic Item in the process.

Would you like to wear 5 Rings on Both Hands or 3 Necklaces.

No. Then they would have to nerf enchantments in total.

Why not toe rings? Why not bracelets? Why not ear rings? Why not [censored] rings? Why can't we wear magic nipble piercings?

"HA! Foul draconic beast. You presume to have me bested. Lo, you are mistaken! I have a nipble Ring of Fire Shield as well as my Magic Codpiece of Dragon's Bane. T'is truly the dawn of your demise. Behold, vile winged serpent, the effect of my mighty [censored] Ring of Power and tremble, for your end is nigh!"

In other words, no. Just no

On an unrelated note: People who use the term "bling" outside of a time machine that is at the moment idling in the 90's make me want to smack them directly in the mouth. Not to cause you distress, I just wish to express my general distaste for the aged phrase :foodndrink:

It would just make enchanting too over-powered

Unless enchanting was totally nerfed, which would no doubt bring forth a tirade of hate from some people. So, on balance, its probably better to limit it to two rings and an amulet IMO

I agree it is a balance thing. The whole game relies on the Devs being able to balance all the different elements that effect damage and resistances to make a believable experience. Too many extra effects would be hard to balance for as it means that those who do not use so many would be at a disadvantage. Also I'm no swordsman, but I would presume that having a ring on every finger would make handling a blade a nightmare, and too many chains... "all the better to choke you with my dear". that being said, I may have downloaded an unlimited ring mod for Ob ^_^

No.

If you could wear 5 or 10 rings, then they would have to nerf all rings and make them more common to balance it out.
Because wearing 10 "Grand Ring of..." is going to be completely overpowered compared to other gear.

Can I just ask a quick kinda related question here? Is there a reason somewhere in the lore that explains why a massive soul can fit comfortably in a nice larger claymore or a tiny little ring? I mean...I grew up with Aladin so I can understand the "ultimate cosmic power...itty bitty living space" deal...but I always wondered why it was like that. I mean, that's a lot of magic to be pumping into a little ring, ya know?

If only smaller souls could fit in rings...and there are only a few really powerful rings that are made out of a special material the player couldn't find in game or is extremely super ultra special awsome rare...I think being able to have more than two rings would be okay. Amulets would be the next step up...then simple cloth...then it spits evenly across the heavy/light armor types board with the stronger souls only able to be placed into the higher tier item types.

I think items had a limit to what you could put on them in morrowind, they also recharged by themselves :D. But constant effects were hard to come by. Don't know which I would prefer. Anyway only the first sentence is relevant for what you were talking about.

I have never seen anything in the Lore, I think it is just a Gameplay reason, most RPG's only have slots for 2 rings and an amulet. But most also have a belt slot fo a 4th option, so this maybe something bethesda can take into account

Would be cool to wear a really high amount of enchnted and magical objects. An idea to keep the exploiting at bay though, would be to have some kind of magical "irradiation", so if you are exposed to too many magical items your health or mental state will suffer. Maybe you could be turned into some kind of magical Zombie or Lich.

I don't think the ability to wear more than two rings should have any effect on enchantment balance issues. You still only receive the benefits of one enchantment per hand because your body is only able to absorb a single enchantment in any given area.

It's pretty much an RPG tradition that you can only rare too rings and one amulet at any given time, and probably goes all the way back to D&D, in any case, I at least can't name a game I've played that let's the player wear more than two rings. Usually, the reasons sited for this are balance, though I'd argue that just adjusting the numbers could address that. Still, as said, weakening enchantments to allow multiple rings to not be unbalancing would probably not be appreciated by fans, in the end, developers probably just figure they'd rather stick to the setup that has always worked before.

Seems like kind of a flimsy handwave to me, not to mention it renders wearing multiple rings pointless from a gameplay perspective, why wear more than two if it doesn't do anything? And how would the game decide which of the equipped rings to use enchantments from?
