I am so happy they already have a DLC planned; it just warms my heart. If you haven't already seen it here < http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/05/13/brink-updates-now-live-free-dlc/ >

Niiiice.

I'm one of the lucky few who haven't encountered lag, but I always love free DLC. They said it'll have a map or two, but I hope they also come with more costume parts.

I knew there was a reason I love SD and Bethesda. Even after all the pissing and moaning I've done, I still trust them far more than any other company. I think it's a very classy move by them.

Oh yes. I hope there is some more customization options, or weapons. Along with the maps.

Bethesda and BioWare are the ones I trust anymore. BW also has yet to screw with me.

I've lost all respect I ever had for Valve because of their idiocracy.

I still reserve the right to piss and moan. Though, free stuffs cool.

But really the most important part about this is the patches.

This makes me happy. I was going to stick with the game either way but it's good to see that they are responsive to the community and giving out free stuff with hopefully keep more people around longer.

Looking forward to more details!

Fantastic news. While I'm hard pressed to view the free dlc as an act of kindness rather than a desperate ploy to repair credibilty (hey, worked for me) I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Here's hoping it's a large selection of new maps, challenges, and perhaps a game mode. Seems a lot to ask, I know, and isn't all that realistic, but the hurdle to get this game back on track with the gaming public is a distinctly uphill fight. Today I was at a Gamestop, and the employee at the counter was actively discouraging a potential customer from purchasing Brink. THAT, my friends, is what I'm hoping is suppressed with this announcement. I doubt it's gonna make people abruptly start recommending it in similar scenarios (a lot of damage has already been done), but at least provide them an opportunity to give the game a chance.

Customization options would be nice and all, but I really think Brink needs more active content. And by needs I mean really needs.

Literally everyone I've ran into that works at gamestop, are CoD [censored] (as far as an fps goes), and will bash every game that isn't Call of Duty. Everytime they try and give me an opinion on any game, I just laugh at them and wave it off. Atleast around here, no credibility from those guys whatsoever.

I agree. My point, however, was that these interactions are happening. A lot. Some may something like "oh anyone turned off by a Gamestop employee isn't worth playing with anyways" but they're ignoring a fundamental problem: population matters in FPS. It doesn't matter if it's the most entertaining title on earth, if there's no one to play it with you aren't having fun. This was the reason I ended up leaving Bad Company 2 (a phenomenally addicting game) for a while; it got to a point where I couldn't find a match populated by more than a handfull of people anywhere outside peak evening hours. A noob playing Brink is still a person playing and not an idiot bot, and my hope is that this free dlc pack is considerable enough in the content department to at least stop people from just shutting out this game entirely.

OMG FEMALE CHARACTERS PLOX lol...anyways Hope as I might that would be in the first DLC. I think the first DLC hopes for female characters is a bit of a stretch, but perhaps the second or third DLC? always looking forward to more content anyways.

"This should allow players new to the Ark as well as veterans to find quality matches suitable to their preferred play style."
