Fantastic news. While I'm hard pressed to view the free dlc as an act of kindness rather than a desperate ploy to repair credibilty (hey, worked for me) I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Here's hoping it's a large selection of new maps, challenges, and perhaps a game mode. Seems a lot to ask, I know, and isn't all that realistic, but the hurdle to get this game back on track with the gaming public is a distinctly uphill fight. Today I was at a Gamestop, and the employee at the counter was actively discouraging a potential customer from purchasing Brink. THAT, my friends, is what I'm hoping is suppressed with this announcement. I doubt it's gonna make people abruptly start recommending it in similar scenarios (a lot of damage has already been done), but at least provide them an opportunity to give the game a chance.
Customization options would be nice and all, but I really think Brink needs more active content. And by needs I mean really needs.
