Los Angeles. Or,

Right by Bootysweat's house, whichever is the most significant to you. (lol)
The guy lives in downtown LA! Cool.

I'm still just really impressed by the artistry. I'm having a hard time fathoming how much perspective you have to keep in mind to be able to paint a 3x3 sq foot piece of this thing and still have some idea how it's supposed to fit into the whole.

Impressive in a lot of ways, that.

I personally don't think it's painted, but if it was, They'd paint it by dividing each building into probably 1' by 1' squares, and focus on each square until its complete.
I a lot of planning, but still =P

For those of you that are mad about how much it's costing, I'll leave this here from the last thread.
The publisher does this, not the developer.
Granted they're pretty much the same people, but the money pools are completely different

The banner on the scaffolding in http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8613775/Skyrim/skyrimbanner.JPG directs our attention to http://walldogs.net, for those who are curious about to whom the work was contracted. They seem more like a small enthusiast business outfit that does it for fun more than some overly expensive company.

The poster doesn't shout FUS-RO-DAH? I'm disappointed. :sadvaultboy:

Actually I heard it was going to, but in testing there were problems with the building across the street being blown into the next lot and they had to rethink that part.

In the last thread there was also a Final Fantasy 13 Poster painted on the same building, likely done by the same guys.
The whole split the 3 sections into 3 characters thing worked well from both those posters done on this building. Shame Bethesda didn't do something similar.

Clearly you are the one that has been missing the point of the thread, we have all been waiting for the electric thingie to show the dates of the Taylor Swift live shows. The Skyrim ad is just a plus.

Really? I was looking to finding out where this 5 minute express car wash is... I really need my car cleaned...

Anyway ad looks cool I guess.

The Final Fantasy ad was up there for almost a year, it seemed like. At least several months.

Maybe Dovahkiin will stay up there until 11.11.11, "lording it" over all of us puny denizens of downtown Los Angeles.

I'd imagine once the time they payed for is up, it'd stay there until someone else says they want to put something there.
So the time probably varies.

Cool stuff. Is Bethesda actually going to show anything Skyrim related at E3 to the main public? I thought they weren't.

Nick Breckon just tweeted "Our E3 booth somehow looks to be even crazier than last year's".

They're also showing RAGE at E3.

I agree. However, what 3 prominent things could you possibly segregate to a single face on a wall? 11. 11. 11? Thats kind of boring though..

Bethesda didn't really have much artistic freedom on creating the contents of the advertisemant as visuals and information has been kind of tight lipped. But at the same time, its not like they were working with nothing.

BTW those guys at the car wash...

THEY LIE!

It takes at least 8 minutes.

And then if you try to do it at 8am on a weekday -- fuggetaboutit. They don't include the time you are waiting in line.

I would have loved to have seen huge profiles of

Dunmer Necromancer
Argonian Witch Doctor
Bosmer Cannibal
Ice Vampire
Undead Falmer Warrior

But I know that would never happen

Maybe the left and right dragons of Alduin's wall and then the Greybeard that's in the middle (it is a Greybeard isn't it)?
