[snip] (contains foul language)

I think we should be a little more thankful to Bethesda...because there are so many things they could have done wrong, that they didn't. And if anything they are keeping the game industry looking out of the box.

Amazing video. It's true, and pretty funny at some parts.

Jim Sterling is making my life difficult...

He's an annoying [censored]...

He's a walking sterotype...

His show replaced Lisa Foiles' boobs...

But, this is the third week in a row he's said something I agree with and appreciate as a gamer. And that hat was awesome... and FUS ROH DAAAAAAH

I watched half of it. Couldn't take listening to that annoying Doosh-bag any longer. Basically he just talked on and on about how it doesn't need multiplayer to be fun.

I agree.

Anyone care to tell me what the rest of the video was about?

I would like to point out that just because it sells a lot of copies, does not mean that the game is good. Just look at the call of duty franchise. And before you all attack me, I'm not insinuating that skyrim is a bad game. I will say, however, that it is over-hyped. At least until we get that CK released and pumping out game-fixes.

I would...but what's he point? If you didn't watch the video you don't care all that much. And I don't see that changing.

I think you meant: Doesn't need multi-player to have fun.

The rest of the video was about how awesome his hat was.

Also, he talked about common trends games fall into, copying existing good games as a means of stealing some profit; as well as, more talk of how the fallacious view that games require Multi-player to have lasting appeal has been shown to be untrue by the limitless content provided by Skyrim.

Yes Sterling has to be careful when he stands near saltwater... but again: His points are sound.

those are some ANGRY chickens. I love frenzy

also, I would make a disclaimer that the video link has bad language otherwise mods will lock this. Forum rules and all. At least give the youngins on the forum a heads up. Whether you agree with it or not it's the rules and best to cover your rear.

Yes.

But there are also a lot of things that they could have done right, but for some reason decided to "streamline" it instead. AKA, fu.ck it up royally.

Focusing on all of the positive qualities of Skyrim is fine, but doing only that, and pretending the negative parts do not exist, will only hurt the development of TES. If everyone only praises bethesda and never tells them "hey, you guys made a big mistake with his one part of your game..." then they will continue to make the game with these mistakes because to them, that is what we apparently enjoy in a game.

I hope you're not the type that thinks there is nothing majorly wrong with Vanilla Skyrim. I hate those people.

Have you actually read any threads on the forums? 7/8 of them are about whats wrong with the TES Series and what direction people think they should go in.

As to the bolded statement, considering you have tried so hard to get past the obscenity filter and you believe all good news is bad news: I'm so glad I'm one of the people you hate, makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I don't think there is anything majorly wrong with vanilla Skyrim. There are some small, minor, non game breaking issues. That's all I see.

There's already an active thread about this video, you're welcome to continue this discussion http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1295342-skyrim-proves-a-lot-of-points-in-gamers-favor/.

Also, it is generally not permissible to link to profane content like this. We'll allow it if it's related to a game covered here, but only if a link redirect is used. This is covered quite explicitly, pun intended, in the rules thread.
