Cheers Crytek

Want to thank Crytek for bringing us Crysis 3. And for Crysis 2 and Crysis as well.

Despite all the negative feedback which some people have posted around the internet regarding Crysis 3 I still believe that Crytek should be congratulated for what they achieved with Crysis 3 and the Crysis series in particular.

Some people seem to have unrealistic expectations when it comes to how games should evolve over time, and I guess it is in some ways Crytek's fault by producing such far reaching games as Far-Cry and Crysis.

Despite the fact that Crysis 3 uses the Crysis Engine as Crysis 2, there are obvious improvements that anyone with a honest eye to see would appreciate. Yeah sure the storyline may not be "very" long but obviously Crytek made a design decision and invested their time in improving on a greater degree of the game other then just the storyline itself.

Obviously no game developer is under any contractual obligation to design a game to anybodies standard other then their own. We as gamers and customers are by our own freewill allowed to decide for ourselves whether we like the game or not, but too many people are pounding on the doors of Crytek so to speak accusing them of this or that and saying they should have made the game better, or like this etc.

Despite the bugs (I have noticed a few myself), no one really has any right to tell Crytek how they should have created Crysis 3, or what they consider they did wrong. I reckon some people should be locked in a room for 280 days and forced to play games like Asteroids and Pac-Man to really appreciate how far games have come these days. Alot of the games these days are they type I had dreamed about back in the 90s. Consider what gaming will be like in another 10 years.

Anyway, enough negative banter, one again cheers Crytek, you have obviously put alot of effort into the Crysis series and I salute you for that :)

Wait.. so what's the point of this thread? You believe that people shouldn't provide criticism about software? My friend...that's how software improves.....I'm guessing you don't understand this

If people just kept their mouths shut, and never provided constructive criticism. We would be stuck back at pong....

You said "nobody has the right to say what Crytek did wrong".....that's absolute foolishness.
I really hope I'm not the only person to see that

It's not. It's personal preference. If we asked everyone about things Crytek did wrong i'm pretty sure the whole game would change as everyone has their own opinions.

So I just spent $60 and planed my week around playing this game tonight that so far has been an unplayable, broken mess and I don’t have a right to complain? Wow, unbelievable.

When Barnum said “there’s a svcker born every minute” he wasn’t lying.

He never said you didn't have the right to complain, just you shouldn't be saying what they did wrong because apart from your own opinion it's not exactly "wrong" unless they say so...

Sorry Cem. and others, dont take me wrong here. I wasn't talking about personal opinion. Probably in hindsight I should have just left the message to congratulations to crytek only.

I didn't want to start a negative thread and yes, obvious people are entitled to their opinions. And especially those who systems are having a hard deal getting the game to work correctly.

From a design point I thank Crytek for their effort. I am more or less just critising those who call Crytek idiots for this and that etc etc etc.

Obviously gamers opinions will help steer games in general as any game developer would be foolish to not consider what gamers decide as a good game, otherwise they would never sell their product to begin with.

Consider what I said from an art-perspective. Crytek created a masterpeice atleast by their own perspective. But like artwork there will be those that will disagree or not even understand it.

I'm sorry if I offended everybody, just like I implied earlier, just highlighting the direction of my opinions - and that is all it is!

They didn’t adequately test this game before selling it, THAT’S what they did WRONG. I know how the process works I worked on new software deployments for the DMS and AT&T 5ESS switches at Bell Labs. Before releasing a new load to the customer, we had to follow strict guidelines by testing and retesting every possible scenario multiple times. Very rarely did we have any issues after deployment if we did it was usually minor and rectified quickly.

It’s one of two things; Cryteks team of testers is incompetent or they just released it without thoroughly testing their product.

It’s probably me that should be apologizing I’m a little PO’d right now and shouldn’t be taking my frustrations out on someone that’s just giving their opinion.

Anyways it’s all good.

Well, there's no need for hyperbole. You just said it's broken but didn't give one example. Being as I never experienced any issues even after playing the entire campaign, i cannot sympathize with you unless you're more specific. Actually no there was one bug i can think of and that was for some reason when i picked up a marshall in single player the reload animation was acting retarded. But that's about all i can think of atm.
