Actually, gram is a measurement of mass. Force equals mass times acceleration; Newtons = KiloGrams * Meters per Second2. Semantics. 
I remember chemical equations... A bunch of confusing short-hand because scientists don't have time to waste writing everything out. Plus, the Post-It collage is more impressive as a crucible of esoteric epiphanies than if it were just parts of a whole canvas for a single thought.

About chemical equations, I like to just put a number beneath every substance in a chemical reaction that I'll be using for my calculations. Much easier that way. Instead of writing say, n(C6H8O7) every time I merely write n1 with the number one beneath citric acid in the reaction formula.
