Chest looting mechanics

Post » Sat Mar 15, 2014 1:55 am

Here is something that really needs to change with regards to the looting of chests. While doing a group dungeon, after just killing one of the bosses and looting a master chest in the corner I was so happy to see it contained a blue bow, but no my inventory was now full so I couldn't loot it. I had to come out of the chest to make room in my inventory and then loot the chest again, but someone got there first and looted my lovely blue bow. You can imagine how annoying this was, especially as an archer. So to my point, I understand giving other people a chance on non picked chests, but why can't we just have an option to replace something in our full inventory on a succesfully picked chest? I can't even imagine how many arguments this will cause with epics and the like. Please fix this.

This is one reason I'm not fond of grouping (that being, other people :E ), but I DO believe that it should be possible to swap, or even simply delete an item from inventory so as to pick up a new item. Of course the 'easy' solution is to manage your inventory to always have free space, but I can see where that could quickly become a major hassle (what with the limited inventory space *cough cough*)....

Agreed. Chest looting in dungeons is a total crap fight. There has got to be a better way.

Really Leggit? Are you saying your inventory never gets full? Be serious please. There is so much loot in these dungeons and with the limited bag space (even after a few upgrades @ lvl14) it's almost impossible NOT to have a full inventory at some point.

Actually (I bugged this so I hope they fix it) several times (easily reproduced) this happened to me:

1. Loot a chest and my inventory is almost full, so that when I loot the chest it finishes filling up my inventory.

2. Empty out one or two items that are almost useless, like guts from rats.

3. Loot chest again, it is chock full of new stuff (as if a new loot roll happened).

This only happened in open world chests, I did not get a chance to test in dungeon chests. This may have been what happened to you though... not necessarily someone stealing it.

No what i'm saying is if your doing a dungeon run you clear your inventory BEFORE you start. Inventory management is one of the other basics of playing mmorpg. its not rocket science.
