Introduction :
Are you a strong Warrior who keeps finding useless books full of strange incantations? Are you a powerful Mage who keeps finding swords and axes? Well, why not get rid of those unwanted items, and help out someone else at the same time?
The Chest of Sharing is a powerful artefact that works in two ways:
Firstly, all Chests of Sharing are linked—any item placed in Chest A can be retrieved from Chest B, even if Chest B is on the other side of the world, or in another dimension.
Secondly, and more interestingly, the Chest of Sharing allows you to share items between Saves—Character A can place a sword in the Chest of Sharing, and later on Character B can retrieve that ‘same’ sword from the Chest of Sharing.
Think of it as a ‘Shared Stash’ for all of your characters.
Chests of Sharing can be found just outside of each purchasable Player Home in Vanilla Skyrim (There are no Chests of Sharing in the Dragonborn Expansion), one in High Hrothgar, and another in Sovengarde.
Limits :
The Chest of Sharing is very powerful, but has certain limits—specifically, only forty Stacks can be held in the Chest of Sharing at any one time. Any more Stacks will be lost upon closing the Chest. For example, you could have forty different weapons in the Chest, but the forty-first will disappear; on the other hand, you could place two-hundred Arrows in the Chest (a Stack), and they will all be there the next time you open the Chest.
Install :

2) Copy “CDM – 09 – Chest of Sharing.bsa” to your Skyrim/Data Folder
3) Check “CDM – 09 – Chest of Sharing.esp” in your Data Files menu
Uninstall :
1) Copy “CDM – 09 – Chest of Sharing.esp” to your Skyrim/Data Folder
2) Copy “CDM – 09 – Chest of Sharing.bsa” to your Skyrim/Data Folder
Known Issues :
- Items placed in the Chest will be restored to Full Health; this is due to how the items are actually saved and transferred, which occurs even within the same game session.
- Variables on Items will be reset when the Item is transferred; this is due to how the items are actually saved and transferred, which occurs even within the same game session.
- Player-Enchanted Items are Disenchanted, Denamed, and reverted back to their Base Object; for example, if the Player Enchants an Iron Sword with Fire Damage, and names it ‘FireSword’, it will be reverted back to an Unenchanted Iron Sword named ‘Iron Sword’.
- Player-Created Potions appear to transfer correctly within a Game Session, including exiting to the Main Menu; they disappear permanently when the Game is exited and restarted; they may also disappear over time, as the Game re-allocates IDs.
- It is recommended you do not put Player-Crafted Potions or Player-Enchanted Items into the Chest of Sharing.
