I'm a chicken

So all this talk about cazadors has messed with my head. I love to explore but admittedly I avoid certain situations, especially at level 9 (just turned 10). Spotted an undiscovered area that looked cool. Sadly, I was attacked by a young cazador that did some pretty hefty damage before I killed it. Looked down my barrel to find that the place I wanted to explore was infested with those devils... turned around and walked away. I play a loose DiD (if I die because of a glitch or a total accident, it doesn't count... regardless, I haven't died yet this game).

If I didn't play like death means something, I'd have tried my luck. I'm glad I was compelled to walk away. It was a good feeling to fear something.

Hehe, seriously. I love those moments. In Skyrim it was encountering Frost Trolls or sabre cats before being strong enough... walk or run away (Skyrim wasted a huge opportunity with the dragons, though... they would have made awesome deathclaws).

You'll love Dead money if you have that attitude going in.

Not going to spoil it for you, but history has proved that those who like to live are rewarded with a fantastic experience.

If you play like your life meant something instead of just blindly running and gunning, you will like DM. A lot of people hate it because they can't play it the way they can the rest of the game.

I feel like the Cazadors make a lot of the most interesting regions unexplorable, even at a high level. In my experience playing New Vegas, the Cazadors are the one unstoppable force. They fly and zigzag around and somehow poison you without you knowing. Then you die.

It svcks. As a matter of fact I have never properly explored the NW side of the New Vegas map as a result, and I've been playing since it's come out.

Spoiler
Do OWB dlc and get the technology instead of the heart, this will make you unpoisonable

I've always found cazadors a breeze and i think it may be because i did the above at level 14 in my biggest playthrough. Hope this can help!

Also...

It's quite easy to take them out, I use the bozar or the Automatic Rifle. Those two lovely little toys crunch those dang things like no tomorrow.

The NW side of New Vegas is actually fairly devoid of cazador, unless you mean the pass in between Red Rock and Jacobstown.

I have always fought Cazadors with whatever I had, which was often a 9mm machine gun.

Yes, the region directly north of Goodsprings with all of the "KEEP OUT" signs.

Cazadores were alot stronger before any patches came out. They are mid-end game enemies for a reason. Just use a strong automatic weapon to cripple the wings and you'll be fine. Or snipe a couple of them from far away if you are a good marksman.

9mm smg at high level??

Come on dude, you wonder why you have issues.

Also on the I45 north of goodsprings there's about 6 cazadores along the way (2 of which babies, lol).

I love the 9mm machine gun! Ample ammo, high firing rate, Vance's unique version. It's really nice.

It's also really poor :P

Keep the 9mil, but get yourself a shotgun for the cazadores and explore what you havent yet!

9mm SMG is competitive against Cazadores at high levels. It just needs hollow point or jacketed hollow point bullets, preferably paired with Entomologist. It's certainly a better option than an AMR.
