[RELZ] Children of Morrowind - thread 2

Post » Wed Jan 05, 2011 12:16 pm

Thank you, Adventurous Pilgrim :)

Well, if the Nerevarine can be a mog, he/she can for sure be a teenager as well...

And if you just want to play as a teenager, without adding children npcs to your game world, this is fully possible.
The Mod Play as a Teenager is not dependant on the Children of Morrowind esm. But, you will however still have to download the Children of Morrowind base mod in order to get the bsa-package with the textures and meshes for the Play as a Teenager mod.

Both mods are available from the link in my signature.

I'm shamelessly bumping this thread, as I'd like to track down possible problems before I start working on it... See two posts above for known issues I should deal with. :)

I am not sure if I am using the most current version or not... But in my game some of the items such as a teddy bear and a sword I think have icons that have rough edges.. It looks like the icons were hurridly cut out with scissors or something. It isn't a big deal but if your updating and if this hasn't already been updated it would be nice if these few icons could be redone :) I love the mod and would never play without it btw.

The mod ads an inconsistancy in the quest "The Boy Who Would Be Undead". The rumors that start the quest claim Sanvyn Llethri is the youngest Llethri, but you added a younger member. The race menu has the kids heads for advlt races, selecting them causes the game to crash. The bounty for attacking children is still added if you are a werewolf/ring of hircined (how do they know?).

This is our fault over at LGNPC. 'The Boy Who would be Undead' is a Pax Redoran quest. We are slowing trying to update our mods to be Children of Morrowind sensitive. When I get the update of Pax Redoran back from Ostar I will add a dialog entry that checks to see if CoM is loaded and gives an appropriate response.

There's a Gnisis child that stuck in a "water well" from NOM. Not that I care much for NOM anyway, but it is an unremoveable mod, even doing so with bash will crash the game.

No, I don't have LGNPC active and the rumor says the youngest.

I have the issue with children being out at night - and not only when arriving via Silt Strider etc. They can be out when exiting from, say, Balmora's Mage Guild. It is fixed by entering/exiting again. It's no biggie to say the least - but if you're looking into fixing things it might be something to look into.

I've got a couple of problems.

1) Why when I downloaded it (I tried both links) it's supposed to be the lastest version (1.2 I believe) but I'm getting 1.0? Sorry if there's already info on this but I don't feel like trudging through the whole thread looking.

2) There's errors. :( It can't find the rocking horse mesh or something and when I start a new game it crashes.

The Ebonheart Orphanage mod dependent on COM is almost ready for release. It entered final testing and there's a mysterious dialogue bug that started happening even though I didn't change any dialogue and it was working fine before. Once that is resolved, should be good to go.

AJB4: I believe Emma kept the 1.0 moniker to prevent issues with mods that were dependent on CoM.. By the way, the latest version is 2.0, not 1.2.

Yes, exactly that: changing the name of the esm would affect every mod dependant on CoM. :)

Thanks for the info. :D

To be precise, this is the message I get when the game crashes.

Emma, all scripts are functional for the orphanage. I just have to figure out why some of my dialogue disappeared, write a better readme, and then release! Oh, and I think it might partially resolve a bug that was going on with the original COM! (Unintentional as my extent of scripting ability is copy-paste-tweak)

Turns out my problem was a few misplaced files.

Never to mind. It's working well now. :D

Even though this thread is active, Emma hasn't updated COM in years, correct?

Emma and Mordigant:

As it stands, the children in CoM are immune to such dialog topics as 'make love' from MCA. The children in the beta of the orphanage mod were not. The topic did show up and it really gave me the heebie-jeebies. I'm sure Mordigant can fix this, but since I know Emma is very careful about how her children are used, I figured she might want to remind others who use them to be careful of such things.

Has anyone ever made a moogle plugin for COM? That would probally be quite a bit of work though.

Version 2.0 was released October 20, 2008. I have currently no plans for a ver 3.0 - basically, what was intended to be in the mod is already there.

That's good news :). Have you figured out the dialog problems yet? I would appreciate, though, if you ensured that the children were immune to the MCA Make Love topic - I'm sure you also think this would be for the best. If you look at the MCA-scripts or dialog filters, you will surely find which of the local vars for the children that have been used to exclude the topic from them.

What kind of bug did you find? I don't think I know what you are talking about.
