Children in Skyrim (Restricted Discussion)

Post » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:41 am

This is the thread for discussion of children in Skyrim. Children have been confirmed. In this thread we can discuss anything about children in the game except being able to harm them in any way. Being able to harm children is not and will not be part of this game and thus such discussion is not allowed here.

Any other aspect of children in the game is fair for discussion. We can talk about their appearance, what types of quests they may be a part of. We may discuss them adding a new feel to the game or discuss what the children might be doing in the game such as playing, running, laughing, adding a feel of innocence that has not been a part of other TES games. We can discuss if they might be asked about rumors or give us tips on what is going on in the town they live in. Anything about children can be discussed except harming them.

This topic is on the moderator watch list, any post that brings up or hints about harming a child in game in any way will be deleted and a warning will be issued. If you have nothing to say about children in Skyrim that does not have to do with them being essential or being able to harm them in any way then please just refrain from posting in this thread. That is not up for discussion nor is it nor will it be a part of this game. Discussing mods to change it will also be off limits. We won't allow discussion of it in any way.

Thanks for understanding and have a good discussion. Any other similar topics will be closed and referred here.

I'd love to see kids sparing with sticks, or pretending to cast spells with them as well, or pretending to be a dragon. :)

Children should have quests. Like find their stuffed animal and they will tell you a secret location to a cave.

Just reminded me of an early Alliance WoW quest, a couple of kids were standing on the edge of a pier and they had dropped a necklace (their mothers I presume) into the lake. They ask the player to dive in and retrieve it for them. Little side quests/diversions like that would be cool :)

I *really* want to know if children (and other essential characters) can act as witnesses. If so, I wonder if there will be a way to prevent them reporting crimes? Bribing them with sweets, perhaps?

I doubt this will be answered before the game is released, anyway. Just something I'll have to discover for myself.

That would be so cool and cute to see. If that happens, I would like to join in and play with them to get extra parent points. ^_^

Anyway, I wonder how the aging system for your kids will work or even if there will be one. I know I would like to see one and watch as they grow from babies to advlts.

By the way Luke Skyrimmer, you have some fantastic Ideas.

If you are an infamous character, will they fear you and run to their parents scared? Or if he's famous, is it gonna be like if there were adoring fans all over the place? And will they grow up?

As long as its not the same as Fable, where quest essential people kept running from me -.- it was pretty funny though, all the townspeople would scatter and run like little insects as I stepped into town, BWAHAHAHAHAHA >;D

I wonder if the guilds like the Companions will have children "in training" in the guild hall

Kinda like a squire

Or student, same goes with the Mage's guild

Who knows. There is no way to get revenge for them telling the guards about your crimes but Bethesda lets them do that

I hope we can ask them for information like the child at heart perk in FO3 and FNV, Would be helpful to have em go steal that shiny sword at night for you in exchange for some septims or a toy they want. They should also either steal your stuff in which case you deal with their parents or they return your stuff if you drop it. Would be pretty sweet wouldnt it? Also hope we can have kids so i can have my son follow in my footsteps which are stained with dragon blood lol

thats different. If they steal your stuff you will never get it back. You wouldn't have a choice in that matter. At least you have a choice not to commit a crime in front of them
