You know how USA had the Enclave which survived the Great War. Why not China has its own Enclave and were planning an invasion of other continents for 200 years? They'd have all the high-tech armor and weapons that are their own style, not the US.

I think the Enclave Enclave waited 200 years because I think that was the predicted time when the fallout would be light enough for them to start "Restoring" America.
I mean, we do have the Shi. An incredibly advanced (even moreso than the enclave) remnant of chinese scientists and spies that have created their own city-state in San Francisco. I once had a theory that they'd had contact with the Institute and perhaps had an alliance, but that's all just my own headcanon.
Same reason the USA's Enclave waited over century to come out, they have to conquer their own wasteland first before conquering others. Just that US Enclave failed to conquer their wasteland.
I'd actually like to see some more Chinese remnants in the lore. If the Enclave has had such a powerful presence, I imagine the Shi would be just as interesting.
Of course, casting them as villains would likely get the game BANNED in China...
For when we can't have the Enclave in our Fallout games because they're dead, let's have a CHINESE Enclave! Yeah, that's creative!
Come on, people. I wouldn't mind knowing more about the PRC in the Fallout universe, but we don't need a re-skinned Enclave-esque faction. Not every antagonist needs the big bad high tech armor and the big bad energy weapons.
speck for your self i need my power armor and plasma rifle thank you very much.
as for CHINESE Enclave yeah no i would like to see them play more of a roll thou.
Surely Boston is on the wrong coast for a Chinese invasion? If there were any sort of invasion, I would say it'd be more likely to come from Europe.
I doubt any of the other pre-war governments would have any more luck reuniting their countries than the enclave did. Even if they did I doubt they would invade the U.S., simply because there is no point to it. Some kind of involvement from the descendants of Chinese agents would be much more interesting. I feel like the opportunity was wasted in Fallout 3, they even had a bunch of ghoulified Chinese soldiers at a factory in D.C. but they don't actually do anything except shoot you on sight.
Well, we know that if any European government survived the war, that they utterly failed to bring any sort of stability to Europe.
According to Bethesda, Europe is a bigger [censored]hole then the C.W....... and that's saying something.
I had forgotten about that, so yeah no major force is going to be crossing that ocean anytime soon. I can't imagine any government being able to hold their country together after an event like the Great War though, especially one that is already falling apart like the old world governments were.
Well, it can't be the Shi, the Shi was localized to the ruins of San Francisco.
Considering the Little Yangtze camp in New Vegas (Old World Blues) and the prison camp in Fallout 3 (Point Lookout), it's more than a little clear that the USA of 2077 didn't learn anything from the USA of the 1940s... As those sites are mirrors of the USA's internment of Japanese immigrants and descendants.
This makes the Shi an anomaly, if only because their ancestors were shell-shocked survivors of the Great War who decided to try to rebuild San Francisco rather than live out the rest of their lives in a sunken tomb.
Frankly, I would like to see some details of what the rest of the world is going through. I like the concept of the Fallout games being based in the US and essentially being one long "This is what you get for being jerks with your heads stuck in the 1950s" allegory, but it would be cool to see if anybody else is enduring this badly.
"We wirr destroy these sirwy Americans by invading Boston, Massachusetts! Muahahaha!"
Honestly, I don't see how it would work.
While I am not advocating the inclusion or exclusion of said faction, I think the Institute could be considered either a big enough 1) technological resource or 2) threat to justify an invasion, if said faction actually existed.
hmm thinking about the a chinese enclave doesn't sound that good, but a chinese recalmation group on the other hand.
Just imagine running into the group of chinese soldiers who are looking for splinter groups who they are tasked with "retriving" and bringing back to the republic of china. Wouldn't have to be a hositile group just a group of possibly war torn ghouls who have seen enough fighting for 4 or so life times and want to bring their brothers and sisters in arms home.
could have cool rewards for helping them like a fully functional stealth suit cloaking system and all.
Having the Enclave return as some Chineese variant would be a bit silly and far fetched.
Maybe as an easter egg or part of the Wild Wasteland perk, but as a serious faction? Cmon!
The enclave is [censored] dead!, and have been pounded into the dirt twice, get some new ideas please!
I guess my question is... why?
Why would they bother looking for remnants of their military 200 years later, when there's absolutely no reason to think that they aren't dead? Why bother traveling the distance of the Pacific Ocean and then cross the United States on foot to poke around for some descendants? Remember, the Chinese government nuked the US despite their operatives still being there. I doubt they'd waste the resources to confirm they did the job.
who said it would be government, also keep in mind most the chinese we run into are ghouls and well china didn't have vault tec so most people there are likely ghouls now, the best explination is a simple one, after the nukes china's government fell just like the US one, though with out the vaults they didn't have a chance to come back, thoughs left are ghouls or are living like poor farmers in an iradiated land.
a few old military leaders likely would decided well "hey wait I am a undying zombie maybe some of my comrads and friends in operations are two" and decide to go on a lim and boat across the ocean to find out and bring back any old friends or survivors they can.
not much of a leap in fallout lore, though how they got there would need heavy explenation, or a chinese vertibird.
