Left behind while the rest retreated from a highly radioactive area?

considering just about every developed nation in the world launched their nuclear arsenal including China, US, Russia, and god knows how many other nations had em, I wouldn't count on one of the key aggressors in the war surviving all that well...

I don't have an answer, I'm actually surprised they were in the country considering they decided to nuke it.

I accually found some Chinese Paratrooper Ghouls running around near Arlington Cemetary. It was near some factory or something. They had all the Chinese weapons and everything. Chinese Ghouls are hard to take out also.

I think that it is more than obvious that the entire world is a wasteland.

Europe pretty much killed itself during the Resource Wars. This was prior to the 2077 nukes.

Africa isn't just Jungle and Tribesmen you know, there's a lot of political intrigue going on there. There's also the Sahara desert.

Fallout 3 seems to indicate not; I can't imagine people like Tenpenny and Moriarty fleeing from a "kinda functional" Europe to the DC ruins to seek their fortune.

I think there was something about an invasion somewhere laying about. Can't remember if it was on a terminal that I read it, or, if someone was talking about it, or what. After all, there are a LOT of chinese weapons about.

Well I guess if your trapped in DC then you have no idea whats going on in the rest of the world, but the way I figure it, if any other country had faired well then surely they would have been seen in DC as a form of aid, which kinda defeats the purpose of a nuked country in isolation.

I'd assume that China was too big to be totally nuked. Probably only the major cities were badly hit. With villages surviving. Altough I'm not sure, but China probably had 'vaults' to, whether they had messed up experiments is debatable though

I understood, and in fact there is also Australia, it is so vast that I seriously doubt it would have taken much damage, the major cities might get hit, but there are settlements all across Australia.

Africa does indeed have some fairly large cities, and heavy industry, etc. However, I don't think they have pissed anyone off enough to merit a couple megatons of retribution..... They are just not that major of a player on the global scene, at least, not back in the 50's.
