A choice between a Pipboy-3000 or Pipboy 2.5

How do you guys feel about the whole Pipboy change.

Do you think in some future installment they might give us a choice beween having a pipboy-3000(aka Giant watch look) or a more Pipboy 2000 look with a kind of PDA

The Pipboy-2000 doesn't really have an onscreen description in FO1 or 2 of what it looks like. But from what I've read on the site and other forums-goers its like a big PDA type unit with maybe some kind of sash that goes around the shoulder or something.

It would be a simple menu swap look like how they did the whole Pipboy-3000 and Pipboy-3billion(Or whatever). Just use one of the two character models with or without the Pipboy watch attached.

Only poblem would be how its been linked to games and DLC like the whole Sierra Madre or Project anchorage and how technology is linked to it and how you cannot remove it from your arm. I guess the PDA version would be called a Pipboy 2.500 something or such because it would serve the pipboy-3000 function except it would not be attached to the arm with the geometric lock. Only time I think it should be viewable ingame is when your bringing up the menu(ie The pipboy) and would never show on your character, ease for reskinning and so that some people don't have to see their character walking around with a satchel like thing all the time.

Be a nice option to have one day. I don't know thats how I feel about it. I'm just tired of my character having the glove take a bit off the apparel I'm wearing. (though it does look cool while wearing PA)

Sorry if this feels like a speculation thread. Is there a mod similar to this in FO3 or NV? Sorry if this is not in the right forums.

Maybe in a future Fallout, like Fallout 4, you start out with a Pip-Boy 2000 but it's pretty worn-out and has less functions. Maybe it's not the 2000 from F1 and F2, but like Pip-Boy 2000a or something which adds/changes a few buttons that is needed for newer functions that is needed.

Then later, but not too much later, you get the choice to get a Pip-Boy 3000 from a junk electronics vendor, and it's ready for a new owner (that is, it's not closed and it has no information from its previous owner). It could be worn-out, scratched, dirty, rusty, cracked glass or whatever, to show you that it has seen a lot of action before you (and so has your 2000a). This newer model has a bit more and better functions, aswell as a better/cleaner layout with higher resolution.

But yes, I'd like to see the old Pip-Boy back. It was a good idea that you could have it in some kind of sash around your shoulder. Maybe it's in a little leather bag/box with a hole cut out for the display and buttons... and let's assume it has http://koivistik.com/images/gallery/Pip_boy_2000_by_equilerex.jpg

Honestly, I think we should be given a choice between the two, and there should be drawbacks to using one over the other

I don't understand this topic at all. The point of the pip boy is because they wanted a convenient choice for a menu, the options it has are purely based on the games need. Colonel, I just.. Don't understand why they would do that.

This whole thing is kind of weird..
