choice?

pretty new to the game/series, pretty new to the forums, story of my life always late to the party so to speak.

That aside, really enjoying the game, ive not had more fun sneaking around an basically exploring in a game in a very long time, but im noticing something an its really annoying me an that is, do my choices actually matter an influence anything?

Maybe i went a weird route or something, i joined the Dark Brotherhood done it all (really enjoyed it tbh) an then decided to sort out the civil war, i actually went into it feeling abit nervous because of my exploits with the dark brotherhood but came out the end feeling nothing but confusion an disappointment.

Are all the major quests the same? does nothing really matter? is there no repercussions for anything?

I hope im wrong im really enjoying playing this but i cant stop thinking whats the point if what i do doesnt matter or reflect or change anything

i probably wrote all this wrong im not very good at typing lol so make of it what you will

No one's going to confront you on your [censored[-baggery, except for that one time you stole something or was rude to an NPC, they'll some thugs after you, but that's about all that happens. You can't even bring them back the letter from the thugs corpses and go, "Um, Miss Shopkeep? Yeah, I'm going to start breaking things now...While you kindly explain this..."
Or once in a blue moon a Dark Brotherhood assassin will try and tag you out of the blue, with an anonymous letter saying SOMEONE put a hit on you, but it's never verified...
No none of that.
Hell, after the Civil War is completed, people still act like it's still going on.

My exploits without witness spread like wildfire, but news that the Stormcloaks got their beards hacked off? That doesn't travel nearly as fast.

Don't let it get to you though.
TES games are about the journey, not the destination.

It's a great game, for sure. But what you just described is the massive pulsating hemorrhoid refusing to die on this game's inflamed anus. It itches like hell and burns when you eat Indian or Mexican, but we gotta live with it and pretend like it isn't there. Don't want anyone else to know.
