I play EW pre-patch as well; and Laser Rifle looked way worst compare to RCW, as they deal the same damage.

I do however keep a YCS and Multiplas with ~100OC cells as back up.

Darn Gobi has been nerfed, so now I'm laying my money on the brush gun, it's a monster in VATS and that's how I do.

Silenced Sniper Rifle. You could get the ability to use it fairly early on if you just pumped guns.

Edit: Also I'm playing pre-sniper nerfing because it's stupid and my game is pretty stable unpatched.

This machine, it is reliable, powerfull(.308jsp FTW) acurate(mid range is long enough for me) and semi automatic

Edit: it can be repaird with guns such as cby rep and the hunting rifle

The YCS/186 is a new favorite.

I loved the Gobi and took it to Deathclaw Promontory solo pre-patch - but I wouldn't do that now.

The Gauss Rifle if I take Wild Wasteland and can't get the YCS.
