The Lone Wanderer, now anxious, hurriedly pressed the button to open the vault door and escape in search of his father. Before h left, he said his last goodbyes to Amata and headed out into the rock-dug cavern. His walk sped into a run as the door closed and squeezed tightly shut behind him.
As he reached the door he had to stop himself from breaking it open. The first thing he saw was sunlight, brighter than any ceiling light bulb he ever saw. He looked out into the world of rubble and began to take his first step into the outside world when...
Baseball bat wielding maniac
Spoiler
...he spotted some baseball wielding maniac down by a car rummaging through it. Only he didn't know he was a baseball wielding maniac. Because of this he naively (don't know the double-dot i thing) went down to help him. When the maniac turned, his bloodshot eyes looked at the Wanderer, and fear shot through his body. The Wanderer couldn't move, and could only watch as the maniac rushed towards him, crazy eyes shining gleefully at his helpless pray.
The wanderer found the courage the pull out the new pistol that he took from one of the guards. He clumsily fired shots off at the maniac, all the while the distance was closing between them. Luckily, one of the bullets found a body, but that wasn't enough. Now they were face to face, and the Wnaderer, knowing his time was up, thought about his mother and father. Alpha and omega. Alpha and omega....

Sniped by lady from Megaton
Spoiler
...he walked over to the rusted sign marked 'scenic overlook' in white letters. The sight he saw was definitely scenic, but it was horrible. Over to the right, there was a relatively small walled-up area. As the Wanderer was studying it he heard a sound. It was a gunshot, and as it penetrated his skin through to his brain, he knew it was the last thing he would ever hear.
Frag grenade
Spoiler
...he took a few steps forward to the rusty sign marked 'scenic overlook' and looked down into the weary road in front of him. Down there was a weird looking man wearing an assortment of chains and leather. His skin was clearly visible because he didn't even have a shirt on. His face was dirty and his hair bedraggled. In his hand was wielded a small spherical object. From his readings he could tell that object must've been a grenade, and he knew what they did. Then the figure spotted him and grinned as he yelled:
"Fresh meat!"
As quickly as he could the Wanderer ran for the door he had just exited. He figured his vault-oriented exorcise would obviously make him fit enough to outrun most people. After all, he scored high on his H.A.L.F. test (Heath And Logical Fitness) test. He made it into the door quite quickly and shut it behind him. Safe....or so he thought. He looked down and noticed the small spherical object at his feet.

Megaton surprise
Spoiler
..he looked over to the right and noticed a metallic-like structure. He realized it must have been the settlement, Megaton, from that entry he read from The Overseer's private terminal. He knew his father would be there.
After a short walk through Springvale and an even shorter encounter with an Enclave eye bot, he walked up on the old robot guarding the entrance. The Wanderer spotted an old dirty beggar sitting around alone. He fetched some water from his pouch and handed it to the man, then walked into the town.
The place was pretty dense, with old aluminum shacks lining the perimeter. The thing in the center though, almost gave him a stroke. After he regained his senses, and his heart control, he walked down and examined it. It looked pretty simple, he knew from his test that it could still explode, and that a photoelectronic pulse emitter would deem it safe. Luckily he happened to have one that he stole from the mad-scientist from the G.O.A.T. He did what the mad-scientist told him and savagely ripped the detonator from the body and placed the body on the ground. Then, he stood as he pressed the detonator (the scientist told him to stay in case the pulse emitter worked, so he could record the data).
Unfortunately, the emitter didn't work, and everyone died.

He doesn't die

This is the one where he saves the world.
