I Just finished building a new rig a couple of months ago, and, from what I put in it, it should be able to run Oblivion maxed-out on everything.. In fact it seems to be running perfectly with all the video levels set to maximum, but, even if I reduce them all to MINIMUM, I get the same faults: The intro and title videos jerk every half-second or so.. And, even more irritatingly, the same glitch persists during gameplay. The framerate is otherwise perfect, but stutters like clock-work every half-second. It's driving me up the wall!! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and my DxDiag details are copied below. I've replaced the video drivers twice, and it's still doing the same thing. I've got 8 Gigabytes of DDR2, a quad-core CPU and my graphics card is a monster, so, in theory, it should be perfect. Any ideas, folks?
Incidentally: I also have Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, which are, I've been led to believe, built around the same Gamebryo engine as Oblivion, and both of them run BETTER than Oblivion at maximum settings.. Any ideas why this should be the case..?
