as much as I would like to stick my head in the sand and ignore it, Christmas is approaching..
Now, as I am sure we all know, Christmas can be a very expensive time of year..
However, with the World Economy the way it is atm, not everyone has a large amount of Disposable income to spend for the Holiday season..
perhaps your a Student,
perhaps you have recently Graduated and can't find a job because the market is over-saturated with people with the same qualifications,
perhaps you were laid off recently and are struggling to find further employment
or Perhaps you have been hit by sudden unexpected expenses (like Medical, or paying for a loved ones funeral)
there are many many reasons some people out there may not have as much money as they would like to spend during the Holiday Season..
So, I have decided to start this thread, where people can give advice on Christmas Shopping for those on a Budget..
My piece of advice:
Don't be afraid to Haggle
I wanted to give a friend a Blueray player for Christmas one year back when I was in University, but the one i wanted to give him was way out of my price Range at the time.. so I went to the Store everyday, asked to see the Manager and told him "that $330 Blueray player, i'll give you $200 for it".. of course he said no, but I went back to that store every day and told him the exact same thing..
After a bit over a week the Manager looked at me and said "you know.. I really admire your commitment and Dedication.. okay, I'll cut it down to $250, deal?"
ended up saving a pretty penny
So, what advice would you like to give someone with not alot of disposable Income for Christmas Shopping on a budget?
