[WIPZ] Christmas in the Wasteland

Post » Tue Dec 29, 2009 7:28 pm

This is just a very simple mod to string up the Christmas lights and Christmas trees in various locations around the Wasteland. It won't be too big or ambitious, but just a bit of seasonal cheer. :)

Sounds good to me. It'd be nice to see Megaton, for example, covered in christmas lights, with a few trees here and there. And just for the lulz, you should decorate Harold.

Have some Enclave and BoS soldiers sitting around a christmas tree with happy faces.
True christmas spirit.

Great idea, PS.

I've tried to cobble together something like this for myself using various mods - Fallout Winter Edition, the Christmas music for GNR mod, the mod that replaces the garden gnomes w/ little Santas, etc. But they don't all work together well. (FOWE was left unfinished as a beta, which was a big part of my trouble I think).

Something like this would be really cool! And with your history of good quality work, I'm sure it will be awesome!! :)

Thanks.

Basically, I'm just stringing up Christmas lights and Dukov's decorated tree in various locations the player's likely to go in, like Moira's, and a few major town centres (like the Rivet City market).

I'm not adding any new textures and meshes or anything fancy. (Once it's finished and I'm happy with it, though, I could look into the option of making a version dependent on Anchorage and making it snow.)

One thing I have done, though, is to add the whole of dikeens' A Christmas Carol in 16 parts to holotapes, and I'm going to scatter them throughout the gameworld so you can collect them, Bobblehead-style. The first chapter is, of course, in Moira's shop.

I'll also add the entire set to the library for people who just want to read them and can't be bothered to search.

You could throw the grinch in as a ghoul in a cave somewhere.
