Cicero...a Follower?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 1:13 pm

After killing Cicero, and looting his dead body, I reanimated him using Dead Thrall.
I think he's the only NPC that conducts random, interesting speech after being reanimated (usually the NPCs go: "Uhhh...")
He also had all of his apparel back on!
Interesting, and more importantly, why?

Also, I've let Cicero live before, (so he can "attend" the Nightmother) and I never checked to see if he was usable as a Follower. (Is he usable as a Follower if left to live?)

Has anyone reanimated a NPC other than Cicero and heard unrelenting abstract speech?
Why does Cicero talk as a Dead Thrall? That's so weird!

Yes he's a follower if you let him live. He'll be based in the Dawnstar sanctuary after you complete the DB questline.

Killed that loon and tossed him in the fire pit in the back of the room. Fool.

I have had several dead thralls still using their canned dialogue. Kornalus would often lecture me in between ghastly groans. Most interesting to me is my current thrall. Ulfric's right hand man. Bear Fist or something like that. He doesn't groan at all! He jabbers constantly and says his normal awesome stuff in fights. Also, when I originally killed him and Ulfric, I looted their bodies for the cool armor and clothing. I had been back to the castle in windhelm many times and their bodies were always still laying there in nothing but their skivies. Then one day I thought that I should DT Ulfric. Didn't work, it said he was too powerful for DT. So I zapped his cohort instead. Sure enough it worked on him. I didn't have any spare armor to put on him at that time, so I headed out the front door of the castle to go get him something to wear. As soon as we got outside, poof, he has his original armor on! So I killed him and checked his inventory, and sure enough he had magically respawned his normal armor. I immediately took it, smithed it up and gave it back to him. Eventually, I also gave him my smithed up Volendrung too! I like this Guy. Since he doesn't groan I pretend he is just another follower and not a DT. Will likely keep him for a while.

Edit: Galmar Stone-Fist, not Bear Fist. Oops.

Cicero is actually one of the best Followers you can get, IMHO.

His Sneak skill is almost better than your own, so unlike most followers, he won't ruin your ability.attempts to remain sneaky in a dungeon.

He's about as lethal as it gets with a dagger. I watched him charge in by himself against some Forsworn, and after killing five or six of them, the only one I had to help him with was the Briarheart he ran up against.

Cicero is a beast, and his comments are pretty cynical, sarcastic, and just pretty damn humorous! ;)

If any time one of my Assassin character's ever needs a Follower, I usually choose Cicero, or another of the Dark Brotherhood Recruits/Initiates. They're almost as good as Cicero. heh heh heh.

Cicero is my favorite follower. He's sneaky, fast with a dagger and his dialogue is hysterical. (Though the horker joke gets old after the first 5000 or 6000 times.)

And, unless Beth has fixed the glitch, he's essential again after the quest where you have the option to kill him.

Cicero is a badass if you use him as a follower.

Has some of the best fighting skills. If you let him live, you'll be glad later. And there are no repercussions for letting him live.

I never tried Cicero as a follower, but I took one of those Initiates on a mission and OMG they are gawd awful. When you sneak around they stick sooooooo close to you, that they constantly bump into you and push you around. I was glad to order them back to the Sanctuary once I was done with that one dungeon. LOL
