This concerns the Dark Brotherhood Questline

I just reached Cicero in the secondary Sanctuary, where he lied helplessly (well...not really ). He looked so helpless and I didn't wanna kill him, but I had the biggest urge to just end his life on the spot. Instead of killing him I thought I should pick pocket him and take his gold. I had a 0% chance to not getting caught, but I didn't care, for he was on the floor helpless.

Out of nowhere, he stood straight up and started attacking me. I killed him, but his last words made me feel incredibly bad. The way he said it, seemed so innocent and harmless. I haven't felt this bad since I killed Paarthurnax on my second playthrough.

I still have a save where he's alive right before I left the sanctuary. Should I keep him alive, or leave him dead?

If you honour the night mother you should load the save.
If you worship the ground Astrid walks on then carry on with the game.

If you let him live, you can get him as a follower at the end of the DB Storyline. Also, if you have the Spectral assassin out (lucien lachance from Oblivion's DB) he mentions that it is Sithis' wish that he lives.

It's recommended to keep him alive.

Even a certain character tells you the same(see spoiler tag)

Cicero is one of those followers with hilariously disturbing comments as a follower.

Killed him the first time too...Gods...Such an annoyance. You need to know him better to kind of appreciate him.

Preposterous. He's one of the best characters in the game.

He live, or by Sithis, I'll send the Dark Brotherhood after all who kill him. :wink:

Cicero is funny for a little while. After that I think he is just seriously annoying as a follower.

Still I agree, best not to kill him.

I keep him alive plus he can be used a 2nd (or 3rd) follower. (Depends if you got Serana as your 2nd follower or not)... (Note: I once had Derkeethus, Cicero, Serana, and a pet following me... Don't need to do much). Plus he's hilarious at times and even though he repeats stuff, sometimes he'll say something at the best moment and let's not forget that he is one of the few immortal followers.

That and Sithis wishes it. **** Astrid.
