So Ciirta survived the last Greymarch. The Greymarch happens at the end of every era, every 1000 years. So this means that Ciirta is at least 1000 years old? What the hell? Did Sheogorath grant her immortality or something?

Time is weird. That's my view.

I don't know. Some say that time flows differently in the Isles, but I haven't seen any tangible evidence for it in-game. Perhaps he kept her alive all this time, but he didn't seem to be aware of the possibility of using her eye to create a new staff. Perhaps magic in the Isles retards aging, or perhaps it's something in the air.

Magic, mayhaps? Probably similar to whatever Divath did.

Perhaps. If a Dunmer could extend his life to 4000 years and still be in such good shape, I think that it wouldn't be a stretch for an Imperial to extend their life to over 1000 years.

Maybe she's already dead, like the Mythic Dawn guys in Paradise?

I like to the idea that time flows differently in the isles. Possibly even non linear. It is outside of Mundus, and therefore outside the hand of Akatosh. She might have been 'around' since the last greymarch, but given how time, and sheo, seem to work, who knows how long that really was. Or whether or not she has come back and forth and back again.


I also like the magic idea. It's stated now that just having access to magic has a tendancy to prolong the life of it's user. Both in Diviyath Fir's case, and Count Skingrad (albeit its just a rumor that is why, it implies that the effect isnt uncommon)

Somebody on the Isles (maybe Sheogorath himself, I don't remember) claims that time is an "artificial construct" and that idea of linear time is lame.
Mage in Crucible refers homself as Chronomancer; I've never heard about something like this outside the Isles.

IIRC there are two contradicting statements about the Grey March, it is either supposed to happen at the and of each Era or every 1000 years. In Arena every Era was still 1000 years, but that got thrown out. I wouldn't be surprised if the original text used Era but had it replaced with 1000 years to make it sound more archaeological.

Granted, you could wave all of it away by arguing that Sheogorath could change the speed of time between Eras, possibly as the result of not being able to remember how to put it all back together. Of course then the original question is also pretty meaningless.
