Cinematics

AS I LOOK FOR THE VIDEO I AM THINKING OF

How about just a discussion on if people would like a small cinematic or not even a cinematic maybe a tiny half second forced camera turn towards a dragon coming into the scene sort of in the stall of Amnesia dark descent when it forces you to turn your head very briefly.

I personally hope theyre going to just go all out in the sounds department to signal the dragon incoming that way, seems like it would svck to not see it coming and get fly by flamed in the back. Maybe townspeople will be fleeing in terror etc as it approaches....what do you all think

I seem to remember todd saying something about how they're gonna be trying to incorporate flowing cut scenish type cinematics midgame. i could be completely wrong so ignore if i am. Just wondering what people think about this.

I don't remember Todd saying that, but it's obvious there will be some form of cut scenes. Not sure what to say though about it. I personally like to see things from my player's eyes all the time.

Where did you hear this? Sounds new to me.

And a horrible idea. Just have 1 at the start and I'm good to go, I want to PLAY the important parts, not watch them....Which other companies tend to do *cough* Bioware.

Neither do I, but should this be true, I hope them to be a more "Half-life 2"-like cutscene, where you are still in control of the character, or at least always looking from it's perspective, and then make things happen around you...

I don't recall seeing anything about them, but if you're referring to scenes like when you first get Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple, I wouldn't be surprised to see them.

Like in the last scene of the Oblivion main quest (in the temple)? As long as I see it through the player's eyes, I have no trouble with it.

@OP, please cite a source of this info, otherwise I'm going to assume it's false.

Cutscenes are fine to me...as long as there aren't too much of them and only if they play at the right times (getting carried to jail, a boss dragon flying down from his peak, etc.).

I was wondering about that. I wonder if when a dragon actually starts to pursue you and attack if there will be a cut scene of the dragon flying in as in the trailer. But then again they've said they're treated as any other animal so probably not.

That doesn't sound like TES at all. Sounds like fantasy CoD.

Yeah, I would definitely prefer character-controlled scenes only. I only wanna see what my character would see.

I haven't heard anything about cutscenes in any regard. Here's hoping it's like the past two games: one at the beginning, one at the end, and maybe one in the middle for something special. Three tops.

Edit: Actually, I wouldn't mind if they had one at the end of each faction questline. That'd be the max amount though.
