5 cities and 130 dungeons?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:52 pm

Well, the problem here is I never said it wasn't, I was asking you how we know it's a city, and I wasn't satisfied with the evidence you gave me so I explained why I had doubts. The whole time, however, you are being sort of a jerk, insulting my perception by claiming you shouldn't have to circle it because it should be obvious to find a blurry word written on a map photoshopped off a wall overlayed onto another map accompanied with the vaguest directions ever: "In the canyon, lower left".
Plus, everything you said had such a condescending arrogance to it: "Have you even looked at the picture lately?" "It should be obvious".

So, I guess my points were the following:
Circling something in mspaint is probably one of the easiest things in the world to do and it takes like 2 minutes to do, 2 minutes that would have probably just been spent on these forms anyways.
You said I was wrong about several things that I was right about and I showed you why I was right.

I didn't mean to sound like a jerk, so I apologise. The leaning of the tower was extremely slight (1 or 2 degrees?) and so I didn't notice it, nor did I think it would have a dramatic impact on people living there once I saw it. I'm kinda tired and was too lazy to circle the canyon thing. My point is that it doesn't matter if you can read it anyway, because it was already confirmed officially. Look, if you're really worried, then here. I'll circle it.

EDIT: But this map isn't overlayed onto anything. I'm not quite sure what you are talking about there.

It is considerably clearer in that image than the one I was given. Anyways, what I'm talking about is this map: http://images.uesp.net//3/33/Skyrim_map_Oblivion.jpg
Both this image: http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx316/randomguyface/kjhbgvjhv.png?t=1296236262
and this one: http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/2858/skyrimmap.png
Have the map we saw on top of the Skyrim map in Oblivion. That's why on the Northeast edge it appears there are two coastlines. This is even more apparent in the second photoshopped map where part of "Winterhold" from the unedited map can still be made out.

Why were you going off that map? You asked for a link saying where the 5 cities were, and I provided you with a link exactly like the one I circled except without the circle. No clearer or less clear.

I am thoroughly confused... I clicked your link and it sent me to that map. Now I click the link and it sends me to the one you said you posted...

So correct me if I'm wrong but are there less or more places to explore than Oblivion?

Are there only 130 places?

Won't exploring be over quickly then?

I really hope not and that there are much places to explore!

Maybe the places offer more exploration. :)

I still dont think that ruin is Markarth city, or a city. I mean...it doesnt look like it has been populated for a long time.

The screenshot is labelled 'Markarth01' and it has been confirmed as a city people have moved into that used to be populated by Dwarves through Twitter.

Winter Hold better be one of the larger cities for a couple of reasons.

1. As someone earlier in the thread pointed out it is the capital of its county and rival to Solitude. In the UESP it is a "Wealthy and influential county", they cant breathe life into a ruin and scrap Winter Hold, can they?

2. It has the Ysmir Collective and the College of WinterHold, both places I very much want to visit and I doubt they can be housed in a place so small as Bleaker's Way.

Winter Hold could have been destroyed by a dragon.

Well if you watch The Road to Skyrim: Todd Howard Interview, he even says there that inhabitants of Skyrim have taken up residence in an ancient Dwemner city built into the side of a mountain.
