City or Country?

Post » Sun Oct 16, 2011 9:51 am

I know you will most likely be able to buy a house in every major city just like Oblivion. But hypothetical, what if they had it where you could only buy one? Would it be a nice large house in the city? Or a quiet cabin in the wilderness?

(Please, no "I live in the city/country and that makes me better than people who live in the city/country".......please, with sugar on top.)

I'm just gonna look at how the Oblivion mod "Bag of Holding" was made and make a mod for myself for Skyrim that works the same way. Don't need a house if you can take it with you wherever you go.

I would like a Viking style longhouse, or a nice cabin in the country.

Of course, my characters would like a home with all the appropriate luxuries, to include, display, storage and workstations.

Hopefully, the forge can be in an outbuilding.

From the screens, to date, I prefer the Fall Forest scenery, but more exploration mustbe performed in the game, prior to final determination.

However, if a nice home or plot of land is availabe through a quest, due consideration must be given.

When I get to the Winterhold, I would like to get a place close to the College, for a time.

It is a hope, that our homes can start simple, and be improved over time.

I'm hoping the houses are a little more involved than in Oblivion as well. And I am really hoping...this may sound weird....that you can actually look outside this time. The houses in Oblivion had me feeling clausterphobic they were so "shut in".

I would love to have an estate in the middle of the woods.

A forest near a body of water, hopefully a nice cosy wooden shack.

I'd much rather live in a place like Riverwood as opposed to a place like Whiterun. There's something more charming about living in the country.

Country.

That way if the Empire/Stormcloaks come knocking I can say that I'm on their side. ;)

Or kill them and get away with it. :hubbahubba:

We know it's possible to cut wood in the game so I really hope you can use it to build a house on somewhere - just like you were able to get stronghold built in Morrowind.

You could always wipe out most of a city and then live in them all

City, best place to ply a trade as an alchemist, and you are always within stumbling distance of a tavern.

I think you lot are barking up the wrong tree - rural crime is a serious and increasing problem - all those hoes and scythes lying around in the open, no guards, and only the occasional drunken Imperial patrol (Look - there's his horse parked outside the inn again!)
