Be a city guard or not

I think It would be interesting to be a guard for a town or city. I mean you could abuse your powers. (like arrest someone because you dont him) What do you think

I already have a job. Why would I want to play a game that made me work at a job? Having to stand at the gate/patrol the streets/relieve other guards when their shift is up really doesn't sound like much fun. I don't think that randomly abusing your powers with npcs would make up for that.

Well you could just patrol when you feel like it. Unlike the other guards.

If it's anything like the imperial legion in morrowind, no.. good god no. I don't need every gaurd asking me "where's your uniform" and not even being able to talk to people cause I decided to wear ebony instead.

Maybe not a full fledged guard. Maybe like in RDR where law enforcement could give you missions. Maybe citizens could recognize you as some sort of deputy.

Edit: Yeah, that would be better

I would like maybe a faction like this, where you go and actually preform missions for the guards to scout against bandits, arrest killers, root out skooma dealers, etc. Would be too boring if all you did was stand around and wait for crime to happen, thats what the watch NPCs are for.

That Was i was talking about. And maybey have an optional feature where you are patrolling the street but you can do when and as long as you want. And to keep it entertaining have a randome event where you find a body or got attact by criminals ect.

Yes, for role playing purposes. An improved upon version of the Imperial Legion in Morrowind that you could join.

Not a guard...perhaps a mercenary or bounty hunter to hunt down criminals and have the freedom to do your own thing and use your own methods.

You may not want to but others might. Simple 'Guard Duty' quests could be used for lower ranks and when you progress you get the more important jobs. Like, bodyguard for a count/ess, escort this lord from point A to B. Detective work etc.

And, if you don't want to be a guard. Then don't be one...

i think it'd be kool 2 be a guard, especially since they have that dynamic quest stuff. for example you're on duty and some crime goes down. now i would expect SOMETHING to happen during your nights as a guard, but if it is just walking around at night... i would not want to do that.

Lol. That was my favorite faction in all of Morrowind. If anything, I would say it can't hurt to have it in, for those of us who love that sort of thing.

I'm not gonna be a drudge for some Nord-count or lord. And if I choose so, it will be to let enemies inside the town.

Well here's hoping the radiant ai is better this time. I wouldn't want to do it if it was like you said either. But if you are able to help them for some extra coin I would do it, provided they hook me up with some of their snazzy equipment :P

Wasn't my favorite but I actually liked i to. Not to thrilled about the idea of having to patrol the cities and so on, but something like that in Morrowind would be cool, just for us who like that once in a while :)

It was my favorite, too, closely followed by the imperial cult and temple factions.

This faction would work perfectly well for an adventurer.
