A civil comment and question(s) regarding the new mod system

Mods have kept Skyrim alive for much longer than it could have possibly done without, and have the potential to keep the game alive nearly indefinitely (or at least until the next moldable ESO comes out). There is nothing wrong with attempting to get money to content creators, and making something that was at one point free cost money is never well accepted, and jumping into the micro transition/DLC circlejerk of hatred that is already dominating the gaming community makes it even worse.

I bet that when deciding to do this, the idea of “If modders don’t want to put their mods behind a paywall, they don’t have to, and players can still play moded Skyrim for free if they want” must have come up as part of the justification for this. While this is true, all it takes is for a few of the essential mods to go on sale before it becomes impossible for somebody to play moded Skyrim for free. The other flaw is that giving people the ability to make money and thinking that a vast majority of them will not take advantage of it is naive. I highly doubt that anybody who will be able to answer these questions will see this, but I’m asking them anyway.

What is the plan going forward, will the next ESO or Fallout games have paid mods? Is there any play to make any changes to the new system that has been put in place?

All I’m asking for is some sort of statement from Bethesda regarding the community’s response to the changes.

You can use the current thread for the discussion. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1516870-discussion-for-workshop-paid-mods-thread-9/
We have no idea what any plans for future games are.

If you want a statement from Bethesda, you can wait and see what news they have for us in the coming weeks like everyone else, or you can email them yourself, although they will likely not have any info for you. (Contact link is at the bottom of the main forum)
