Civil discussion on a civil war

Like the Empire didn't also do exactly what the Thalmor wanted it to do?

My concerns lie primarily with the Aldmeri Dominion, and I want peace between it and the rest of the world. Defeating the Thalmor is likely necessary, but I want it to be done with as little collateral damage as possible. As for the rest... there are many things pushing me more toward the Stormcloaks, many of which have to do with me having tried the Empire earlier and feeling horrible for it. It just makes me feel ill at heart to be crushing the dreams of a grassroots rebellion.

There was this scenario I liked that Pistolero posted. He pretty much said that Skyrim will remain a part of the Empire, but as an equal to Cyrodill. Elisif will drop her claim on Skyrim and allow Ulfric to become High King.

The Thalmor has power over the Empire and they brain washed Ulfric. For a time they had everyone in their pocket. I hate the Thalmor but you gotta admire their resolve.
