Civil War?

Nords vs. Nords? Skyrim vs. the Empire? Dissent in Skyrim was hinted at in ES:4, but does anyone have any insight into this?

Me thinks its Nords vs. Nords.
Especially in the trailer, the wrods When the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood.

Do we actually have real reason to believe there is still a civil war going on? I mean 200 years...

A classic North vs. South probably.

It's independent Skyrim-supporting Nords versus Empire-supporting Nords.

Also apparently a succession war.

Doesn't the Game Informer article mention the civil way, saying it's pro-Empire Nords vs essentially Skyrim nationalists?

I hope there are several factions that go along with this civil war. I would love to be able to side (or backstab) a certain side in the civil war.

I think, the Article mentions the Civil War breaks out around the time the game starts. Although, I could be wrong.

from what i've gathered it almost sounds like the American Revolution, in that a colony wants to break away from their empire, with the pro-Empire Nords conflicting with the Separatists

Well, not really, since Cyrodiil is a Nord colony, not the other way around.

But yeah, it's a Skyrim nationalist movement, essentially. The traditionalist Nords want to be independent of the Empire. The non-traditionalist Nords don't. The king dies, his potential successors just happen to be a traditionalist and a non-traditionalist Nord, they fight.

isnt it one group of nords who want to defect from the empire, versus the nords who don't want to?

Doesn't that seem familiar to the Spanish Civil war of 1936

...not really, no.

Maybe something more like the Italian Wars.

From what I understand it's Nords Vs Nords. And they're fighting over whether or not to cede from the Empire or not.

Its relevant to the Spanish civil war because one is pro Germany while the other is well traditionalist but the Italian wars are a better example
