Civil war : V

Like the title/poll explains.

For example Oblivion was pretty straightforward, help the Blades. In Skyrim I believe there is a 2-split, 1 favours the decaying Empire, the other wants to stand alone. Correct me if I am wrong.

Imagine being able to choose between the sides, which one would you choose? Of course, I am not entirely sure if there are only 2 sides and if it is pro & anti empire.

I don't really agree with all the options, and I'm hoping the game will be different. But for now, Pro-Imperial. In times like these, we have to stay together

The poll is a bit black and white, I agree. I'm hoping the game has a bit more 'nuances', more groups having different morals.

Voted anarchy, let the kings and nobleman sit on their thrones and radiate self importance,while you do the dirty work. All you got for saving the world in OB was some useless armour and a worthless title. Don't expect more thanks this time 'round.

When I played Morrowind I sympathized with the people who were against the empire, but there was not much to do about the situation. In Oblivion there was no politics, and the main quest was very pro-imperial.
If I can be anti-imperial in Skyrim, and play a part in the civil war, I will definitely play the anti-imperial way on my first character.

From what I understood, the civil war is internal to Skyrim, between factions, not between Skyrim and the Empire. Is that not the case?

Nah it's between two groups. One group wants to break away from the empire and another group that wants to stay with the empire.

Yeah but one side is Pro - Imperial, and the other is Anti-Imperial.

I hope we don't have to fight to break from the empire. I have been a part of the empire for so long it just wouldn't feel right

Pro-Imperial, but with an Empire that is an empire in the same sense as the United Kingdom is a kingdom.

Not sure yet. It might depend on what race I'm going to be. Like if I'm an Altmer or a Khajiit I couldn't really picture them being motivated to dive straight into a foreign civil war shouting "for Skyrim!" or "long live the Empire!" on day one without taking some time to learn the situation first.

The GI mag article talked a little bit about it. Telling us that the King of Skyrim died and two groups are fighting for the throne. One group wants to seperate from the empire while the other group wants to stay with the empire.

Honestly, the empire was one of my least favorite things about the TES universe. It will not be missed.

AH, I see, so it is internal, but between pro-Imperial and pro-independence factions. Hmmm.

I guess it would depend on my character. I kind of like the idea of a free Skyrim, though. And I'd love to see where the story and lore go in the future in a Tamriel where the empire has completely fallen.

How excellent would a nord run empire be? (ok tiber septim was a nord, but he became an imperial) it would be an empire based on drinking and random aggression

The nords should just start their own empire ffs@
