So no Clannfear's?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 5:19 pm

I miss the clannfears. You could summon them in Morrowind and Oblivion. Did something happen since then? It's all atronachs and zombies now. Well, you CAN summon a Dremora Lord, and he seems better than even storm atronachs. But we could summon, and fight, Imp's, clannfears, daedroths, Xivials and spider daedra, in Morrowind and Oblivion. What happened since then?

I liked the Clannfears, they were best summon for ratio magicka/damage done/damage taken. At high levels you might need to summon 3 or 4, but you could because it was cheap.

in the oblivion crisis you closed all the gates when you defeated mehrune dagon. hence, daedra cannot enter the realm anymore unless they are conjured. i agree it would be nice to have them back as a summon.

maybe it's because they were dealt with in the Oblivion crisis, but who knows why they got the cut. The only creature I really miss in Skyrim are minotaurs. They could have made them vicious in this game, kind of like a low level vs a Giant.

I miss them too. They usually beat the crap out of me in Oblivion, but when I was a mage they were an awesome summon.

I suspect we will be seeing many more spells and creatures in future expansions.

Daedra were the focus of TES IV, so it made sense that they have a variety. Dragons are the focus of TES V, so daedra had to be put on the back seat.

Morrowind didn't have imps, xivials, or spider daedra.

And no Daedroths, Xivilai, or Spider Daedra either. Seeing how the Atornachs have been improved i'd love to see Skyrim versions of those too. Maybe in DLC? If not, modders.

I loved my summoned Clannfear in Oblivion. Things were mean little dynamos that ate enemy casters for lunch. Then again I loved magic in Oblivion - which is definitely NOT the case in Skyrim.

I don't miss clanfears because at lower level they are really dangerous, but I miss daedroth.

But Oblivion had much more diversity in undead conjuration as well (2-3 skeleton, 2-3 zombie, 2 wraith, lich) , we got 6 different creature in skyrim, (3 atronach, 1 deadra, 1 familiar and 1 fire familiar), there were much more summon variety in both morrowind or oblivion. (golden saint, dwarven sphere, hunger and a few other were in morrowind as well).

More undead would have been nice.

Methinks we also need Ogrim, Hunger, Vermai and Daedra Seducers back.

You closed the the gates to Dagons tell, there is no reason other Daedra could not appear. The only way Dagons Daedra fan come into the world is of they are summoned but creatures such as the Hunger and the Winged Twilights can still come and go freely.

I suspect once the CK comes out and we get a substantial Patch/DLC spell casting will once more be the funnest way to kill a mudcrab. :D

Well, Winged Twilights belong to Azura and Golden Saints belong to Sheogorath. We know the events in Oblivion didn't keep a gate from opening to Sheogorath's realm, so...

The funnest way to kill a mud crab is with a necromancer dead thrall who the raises it back up to kill the imperial.

Sadly, no. At least badass dremora are in. They will never replace clanfears though :(
